BTS released their chart-topping single “Butter” during 2021. However, there are several other versions of this song available for streaming. There’s the instrumental version, the “hotter” remix, and even a version featuring the “Body” rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

In conjunction with this remix, Jungkook, Jimin, and J-Hope teamed up as “3J,” creating a dance video specifically for Megan Thee Stallion’s verse. (It even featured the iconic tongue moment Megan thee Stallion is known for.)

Three weeks since it was published it YouTube, this video earned over 35 million views. (The actual “Butter” remix has over 55 million plays on the music platform Spotify.) Thanks to one Bangtan Bomb, fans saw how many times these artists danced before they were satisfied with the performance.

J-Hope was the member who encouraged the ‘Butter’ dance video

All seven members appeared in the original music video for “Butter.” However, only three members appeared in this dance video to Megan Thee Stallion’s verse. During one Bangtan Bomb, fans got a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of 3J’s YouTube video. Jimin even shared what sparked this Jimin, J-Hope, and Jungkook reunion.

“The reason we did this dance is that it was Hoseok’s idea,” Jimin said, according to a translation on the video. “’Wouldn’t it be nice to show ARMY this new side of us?’ I think that thought started it.”

“It’s been a while since we’ve done such difficult choreography like this,” he continued. “It’s been a while since the dancers of the group performed together. I think it’s been around four years since 3J last gathered. So, J-Hope asked Jungkook and me if we’d like to do it.”

Jungkook, Jimin, and J-Hope previously partnered for a sub-unit stage. That was “613 BTS HOME PARTY,” a production from 2017. A Bangtan Bomb showed the three performers rehearsing with members like Suga and V goofing off in the background.
