BTS Have 7 Nominations at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards
The finalists for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards have been announced, and BTS earned multiple nominations. Billboard announced finalists on April 8, and the award show will take place on May 15. At the upcoming 2022 BBMAs, BTS are nominated in a total of six categories, earning two nominations in the Top Selling Song category.

On April 8, Billboard released the official list of finalists at the 2022 BBMAs. Billboard also announced new categories for the 2022 award show.
BTS were announced as finalists in two of the new categories: Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Artist and Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Song. The septet also received two nominations in the Top Selling Song category.

BTS fans reacted to the band’s 2022 BBMAs nominations
After Billboard announced the finalists for the 2022 BBMAs, ARMY shared their excitement for BTS’ nominations on social media.
“I love that BTS are up against themselves in the top selling song category lol,” wrote a fan on Reddit.
“I still remember being a new ARMY in 2017 and being so excited that BTS were nominated for Top Social Artist at the BBMAs for the first time. I never would’ve imagined they’d be nominated in this many categories, let alone competing against themselves omg,” wrote a Reddit user.
Other fans wished BTS earned nominations in the major categories.
“They have never been nominated in a main category even though they are consistently the top sellers, social engagement, and now streamed artists…,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
The band has won awards at the Billboard Music Awards before
Already in their career, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook of BTS have won nine awards at the BBMAs. In 2017 and 2018, the septet won Top Social Artist.
At the 2019 BBMAs, BTS won Top Social Artist and Top Duo/Group. The band then took home the Top Social Artist award again in 2020.
In 2021, BTS swept all of their nominated categories at the BBMAs and won Top Duo/Group, Top Selling Song, Top Social Artist, and Top Song Sales Artist.
