BTS will perform at the 2021 Grammy Awards on March 14. The septet is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their song “Dynamite.” BTS will most likely perform “Dynamite” at the Grammy Awards, and even though Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have performed the song countless times, fans have no idea what to expect.

BTS released “Dynamite” in August 2020, and so far each performance of the song has been new and creative. Here is a look back at BTS’ best performances of “Dynamite” as a preview for their 2021 Grammy Awards performance.

BTS performed ‘Dynamite’ for their NPR Tiny Desk Concert

On Sept. 21, 2020, BTS took part in NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series. The concert series is renowned in the music industry and is known for giving artists a way to present their music in an intimate setting.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, BTS filmed their Tiny Desk Concert in South Korea. For the concert, BTS performed “Dynamite,” “Save Me,” and “Spring Day.”

“Dynamite” typically features upbeat choreography, but for the Tiny Desk Concert, the band members performed the song while sitting in chairs as live music played behind them.

This setup allowed fans to focus on the members’ vocals. Of course, “Dynamite” is so catchy BTS ended up adorably dancing along anyway.

‘Dynamite’ on ‘The Tonight Show’ took place at a skating rink

In 2020, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon put on “BTS Week.” For the five-night special, BTS appeared as the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, sat down for an interview with Fallon, and played virtual games.

To close out the week, BTS performed “Dynamite.” The performance was filmed in a skating rink, perfectly matching the song’s fun and retro vibes. While dancing to the song’s choreography, the BTS members wore sneakers.

However, the end of the performance showed the members roller-skating around the rink. This fun addition at the end made the “Dynamite” performance on The Tonight Show even more memorable.

The 2020 Melon Music Awards (MMA) took place virtually over the course of multiple days, with the main performances occurring on Dec. 5, 2020. Suga of BTS underwent shoulder surgery a few weeks before the awards show, so he was not present for 2020 MMA.

For their 2020 MMA set, BTS performed “Black Swan,” “ON,” “Life Goes On,” and “Dynamite.” Despite Suga’s absence, the members still put on quite a show.

In BTS’ MMA set, “Dynamite” served as an ode to Michael Jackson. Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook embraced the song’s disco-pop feel in a stellar dance break.

A new ‘Dynamite’ performance was released days before the Grammy Awards

On March 12, the Recording Academy put on a virtual concert called Music On A Mission to benefit MusiCares. BTS took part in the concert, and the band performed their hit song “Dynamite” just days before their scheduled 2021 Grammy Awards performance.

The K-pop group filmed the performance in a large auditorium. The lighting, energy, and Jungkook surprising fans by playing the drums cemented the MusiCares performance as one of BTS’ most memorable renditions of “Dynamite.”
