BTS: ‘Butter’ Stays at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a 6th Consecutive Week

On July 6, Billboard announced that BTS' new single 'Butter' reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the sixth week in a row. The song is BTS' most successful song to date in the U.S. On July 9, BTS will release a physical CD of 'Butter' which will no doubt increase sales. The CD will feature a new song called 'Permission to Dance.'

BTS released “Butter,” their second English-language single, on May 21. On July 6, Billboard announced that “Butter” has officially spent the first six weeks of its release at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Butter” is BTS’ fourth No. 1 song on the chart. Out of all of the band’s No. 1 hits, “Butter” has spent the most time at No. 1 on the Hot 100.

‘Butter’ is BTS’ most successful song on the Billboard Hot 100

So far, BTS have had four songs reach No. 1 on the Hot 100: “Dynamite,” “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, “Life Goes On,” and “Butter.” “Dynamite” is Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook’s first English-language single, and the song remained at No. 1 on the chart for three non-consecutive weeks.

After “Butter” stayed at No. 1 for four consecutive weeks, the song surpassed the success of “Dynamite” on the chart. When it spent six consecutive weeks at the top spot on the Hot 100, “Butter” became BTS’ most successful song in the U.S.

Billboard reports that in its sixth week, “‘Butter,’ released on HYBE/BigHit Music/Columbia Records, drew 11 million U.S. streams, down 11%, and sold 153,600 (downloads, cassette and vinyl combined), up 20%, in the week ending July 1, according to MRC Data. It also attracted 28.3 million radio airplay audience impressions, up 2%, in the week ending July 4.”

BTS will release a ‘Butter’ CD on July 9

Originally, BTS released “Butter” as a digital single. On July 9, a physical CD of “Butter” will be available for fans to purchase. ARMY can buy the CD at local stores like Target and Walmart or pre-order the CD on Weverse Shop.
