Jimin says it was J-Hope’s idea to make the dance video

The new Bangtan Bomb is titled “The 3J Butter Choreography Behind The Scenes.” After filming a few takes and rehearsing, Jimin stepped aside and gave a brief interview about how the choreography video was conceived.

“The reason we did this dance is that it was Hoseok’s idea. ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to show ARMY this new side of us?’ I think that thought started it,” Jimin said.

The BTS singer continued, “It’s been a while since we’ve done such difficult choreography like this. It’s been a while since the dancers of the group performed together. I think it’s been around four years since 3J last gathered. So J-Hope asked Jungkook and me if we’d like to do it. And that’s how it started.”

Jimin went to additional ‘practice sessions’ for the BTS performance video

During his interview for the Bangtan Bomb, Jimin revealed that he found the choreography for the “Butter” remix performance to be “difficult.”

“Jungkook and Hoseok did so well. This isn’t the style of dancing that I’m used to. So it was difficult. Even learning it was difficult. Jungkook did so well from the start,” he said.

Jimin then shared that he “attended” multiple rehearsals for the performance video so he could master the choreography.

“Though I attended more practice sessions I still feel like I could have done better,” Jimin said.

Jimin also felt the choreography for BTS’ song ‘Butter’ is ‘difficult’

BTS originally released “Butter,” their second English-language single, on May 21. The band collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion on “Butter (feat. Megan Thee Stallion),” which dropped on Aug. 27.

On Aug. 1, Weverse Magazine published an exclusive interview with Jimin. While Jimin is a highly skilled dancer, he admitted learning the choreography for the original version of “Butter” proved to be “difficult.”

“I think ‘Butter’ was a bit hard for me. It wasn’t a style I was used to, but I thought the actual dance was elegant when I saw the video and it had a lot of footwork, so I thought I’d be good at it, but it was way harder than I thought. During practice I even thought, Why am I so bad at dancing?” Jimin told Weverse Magazine.

He continued, “If you look at our usual choreography, it has very powerful parts with big movements and lots of power, but ‘Butter’ felt really difficult because all the power went in at the same time even though it was loose.”
