Jimin of BTS thinks he used to be ‘really introverted’

Jimin released his song “Promise” on BTS’ SoundCloud in 2018. The BTS singer helped compose the song and co-wrote the lyrics with RM.

Speaking of the song with Weverse Magazine, Jimin revealed he felt “really introverted” when making “Promise.”

“I took an MBTI test recently and it said I’m extroverted, but when I made ‘Promise’ I was really introverted and feeling depressed. I think ‘Promise’ was a chance for me to look at myself. I managed to come out of my shell a little thanks to that song,” said Jimin.

Jimin recently released a song called ‘With You’

Earlier in 2022, Jimin made a song called “With You” with former Wanna One member Ha Sung-woon. The song was included on the OST for the South Korean drama Our Blues.

In his interview with Weverse Magazine, Jimin compared the making of “Promise” to “With You.”

“The first version of ‘With You’ we recorded was very emotional and there was a long process involved in relieving that emotion. ‘I’ll soften up a bit. … I’ll try it a little softer. … Ah, right—a little bit softer now. … I’ll just try it nice and simple.’ Like that. I wanted to show sadness and a desperate longing expressed in a simple style,” Jimin shared.

Jimin also told Weverse Magazine, “It gave me a lot of practice because it was really hard right from the beginning, so I had to redo it over and over. I kept saying, ‘I’ll try that again from the top,’ and changing a bunch of stuff, but it was a lot of practice, and it was a song for a soundtrack, so I tried really, really hard to give it a simpler sound than anything I usually did before.”

What Jimin thinks of BTS’ new album ‘Proof’

BTS’ new album Proof is an anthology album. The album is primarily composed of BTS’ greatest hits across three CDs along with new songs. The album’s lead single is a new song called “Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment).”

At the beginning of his interview with Weverse Magazine, Jimin shared what he thinks about BTS’ album Proof.

“At first, my most frequently occurring thought was, ‘We sure have done a lot.’ It gave me a little time to reflect, too, and that idea that the best is yet to come is also what ‘Yet To Come’ is about. And in the same way, I want to do lots of even better things in the future, too,” he told Weverse Magazine.
