Jungkook debuted blonde hair at the Golden Disc Awards

On Jan. 9, BTS won a Digital Song Division Bonsang for their song “Dynamite.” During BTS’ acceptance speech for the award, Jungkook’s blonde hair captured fans’ attention.

“JUNGKOOK’S HAIR????? I’m having trouble breathing. Tall, blonde and gorgeous indeed,” a fan wrote on Reddit.

Another fan wrote on Reddit, “Is Jungkook blonde??? I never thought I’d see the day. He’s been blonde before, but not like this!”

In addition to Jungkook’s blonde hair, BTS’ acceptance speech featured more special surprises for ARMY. Suga underwent shoulder surgery in 2020, and while he is still recovering he took part in BTS’ acceptance speech on Jan. 9.

At the end of BTS’ acceptance speech, RM teased that the band was preparing to work on new music. It is unclear if the septet is planning to release an album or single next. However, the Grammy Awards are set for March 14, 2021 and seem like an ideal comeback stage for BTS.

BTS performed at the Golden Disc Awards

On the second day of the Golden Disc Awards, BTS took home a Daesang for Album of the Year for their album Map of the Soul: 7. The group also performed multiple songs that they released throughout 2020.

BTS opened the performance with the orchestral version of “Black Swan.” During “Black Swan,” Jin and J-Hope stood on either sides of the stage as V, Jimin, RM, and Jungkook descended on a platform with large wings attached to it. Suga then appeared through the center of the stage.

Following “Black Swan,” Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook performed the full choreography to “ON,” the lead single from Map of the Soul: 7. Next, all seven members performed “Life Goes On,” the lead single from the group’s album BE.

The “Life Goes On” performance featured miniature sets of all of BTS’ music videos since their debut. Because the song does not feature choreography, Suga performed with the group. After “Life Goes On,” Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook performed “Dynamite (Slow Jam Remix).”

Jungkook’s blonde hair impressed BTS fans

There were many things that stood out throughout BTS’ performance at the Golden Disc Awards. Suga returning for “Black Swan” and “Life Goes On” warmed fans’ hearts, and BTS performing a remix of their hit “Dynamite” proved to be a pleasant surprise. Still, Jungkook’s blonde hair nearly stole the show.

“… Jungkook absolutely killing it with his ad libs. I don’t know if he did more or if his blond hair had my paying more attention,” wrote a Reddit user.

“JK’s hair needs to stay like this forever,” a fan wrote on Reddit.
