BTS released “Butter (feat. Megan Thee Stallion)” on Aug. 27. The remix featured ad-libs by Megan Thee Stallion and a new verse by the Grammy Award-winning rapper.

The “Butter” remix choreography video opens with a short clip of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook dancing to “Butter” in the song’s official dance practice video. J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook are then shown in a practice room wearing all-white outfits.

Jungkook ‘couldn’t say no’ to J-Hope’s request to make a choreography video

On Oct. 3, a Bangtan Bomb was uploaded to the BANGTANTV Youtube channel. The new Bangtan Bomb is titled “The 3J Butter Choreography Behind The Scenes” and shows J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook filming the performance video.

After filming a few takes and rehearsing, J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook took a break to watch themselves dance. The three then agreed to keep filming more to make sure the final version was as perfect as possible.

Before going back to dance, Jungkook revealed how the choreography video came to be.

“J-Hope walked over and said, ‘JK, did you see my text?'” Jungkook shared. “I was going to do it. He said ‘Want to do it?’ and I couldn’t say no.”

Jungkook then added with a smile, “No, it’s fun,” clarifying that he was happy to film a dance for the “Butter” remix.

Making a dance for BTS’ ‘Butter’ remix was J-Hope’s idea

In BTS, J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook are part of the septet’s dance line. The “Butter” remix performance video marks the first time J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook have collaborated on a dance in quite some time.

“We haven’t done something like this in a while,” Jungkook said.

“That’s right,” Jimin agreed.

After filming even more takes, Jimin shared his thoughts about the performance video and went into detail about why the three BTS members decided to make it.

“The reason we did this dance is that it was Hoseok’s idea,” Jimin said in the Bangtan Bomb. “‘Wouldn’t it be nice to show ARMY this new side of us?’ I think that thought started it… I think it’s been around four years since 3J last gathered.”

“Butter (feat. Megan Thee Stallion)” is available on streaming and music-purchasing platforms.
