On July 27, Jungkook casually dropped a cover of “10,000 Hours” by Justin Bieber and Dan + Shay on the BTS Twitter account. The short clip highlighted the 22-year-old’s take on the first 49 seconds of the original song. And although there were to images in the video, the singer left a simple note in the caption.

“10000 hours,” Jungkook wrote alongside a purple heart.

Meanwhile, Dan + Shay responded to Jungkook’s cover.

“This sounds amazing,” the music duo tweeted. “Thank you so much for singing it!”

Nevertheless, Jungkook deleted the Twitter video less than an hour after posting.

While Jungkook deleted his cover of “10,000 Hours” from the BTS Twitter account, some members of ARMY saved the recording. But regardless, the music artist’s impact on fans did not cease to exist. Rather, it amplified.

When Jungkook posted the 49-second clip, the singer’s name instantly trended on social media. Then within a half-hour, “JUNGKOOK” reached the number one spot worldwide on Twitter.

“It’s the way you can literally hear his voice blending in so beautifully into the song as he enjoys it,” a fan tweeted in response to Jungkook’s cover. “And to think of jeon jungkook who actually had us in mind when singing this song, crying.”

Then after Jungkook erased the video, the BTS singer continued to trend on the social media platform.

Jungkook may have deleted it, but we got it just in time before he did,” a fan wrote on Twitter. “His voice is too beautiful and it can make anyone’s day better or any person feel happier no matter what they’re going through! Thank you, JK.”

Meanwhile, some BTS fans are hoping Jungkook will release the full recording in the future.

“Okay listen…. what if jungkook decided to make a full cover and post it on soundcloud instead,” a fan wrote.

When will Jungkook release his mixtape?

Whether Jungkook decides to re-upload his cover of “10,000 Hours,” release a full version, or even none of the above, it’s clear the BTS member has a massive impact on the fandom. The singer also has plenty of content for ARMY to enjoy moving forward.

BTS recently confirmed their next single is coming out on Friday, Aug. 21. The South Korean band also unveiled an exciting countdown on social media. Meanwhile, ARMY will get to enjoy more of Jungkook’s honey vocals when he releases his highly-anticipated mixtape in the future.

“I’m working on it,” Jungkook said of his mixtape during the Ask Anything Chat released in September 2019. “Actually, I recorded all the songs. But I need to record them again.”

That said, it’s possible the “Still With You” singer will carve out his own path without a traditional mixtape.

“Instead of calling a mixtape, I will release a song that will be followed by more songs in a short time frame — one by one,” he said.

Whenever Jungkook chooses to drop new music, we know BTS fans will be with him every step of the way. So get ready. It’s going to be an extraordinary ride.
