What do you mean Jungkook went live? When everyone least expected it, Jungkook uploaded a video to the BANGTANTV YouTube channel. The video is just over two minutes long and shows Jungkook working on a song in a studio. While it could be in relation to BTS’ upcoming album, some fans are convinced that it is a sign Jungkook will release his highly-anticipated mixtape soon.

What the new YouTube video shows

The brief YouTube upload is labeled “2008** Jung Kook,” meaning it was most likely filmed sometime in August 2020, but the exact date is redacted. Jungkook streamed the video on Sept. 19, 2020, and when the video opens it is muted.

Jungkook is seen standing in a studio holding a sheet a paper, while another individual sits at a computer with their back to the camera. The two appear to be listening to a song. The video unmutes so fans can hear them have a discussion about what they are working on.

They mention the lyrics “Together, wherever” and “Yeah I know you always stay.” It is then decided they will record again once Jungkook’s throat is “primed and ready” to “get a clean recording.”

The video cuts and Jungkook is seen sitting in front of the computer. The sound is muted again, but Jungkook begins dancing in his seat as he listens to the song.

BTS fans think the video could be about Jungkook’s mixtape

Jungkook first revealed he was working on multiple songs back in 2019, even posting an original song of his on Twitter for his birthday. Over the past year, he has dropped hints about the status of his mixtape, including that he plans to release one song after another in a short time frame versus on one album.

On June 5, 2020, Jungkook released his song “Still With You” on SoundCloud for 2020 BTS FESTA, an annual celebration where BTS commemorate their debut with ARMY. He produced the ballad with Big Hit Entertainment’s Pdogg.

For months, fans have had a sneaking suspicion that Jungkook will release his mixtape soon. After the BTS singer posted the video on YouTube, ARMY trended “JUNGKOOK WENT LIVE” and “JJK1 IS COMING” on Twitter.

“Jungkook has an Apple Music page and a verified Spotify page.. I didn’t want to get my hopes up but I already did please let it be a sign that jjk1 is coming,” one fan tweeted.

“THE FACT THAT IT HIS FIRST TIME TO LIVE AGAIN ALONE AND YET HE GONNA SHOW US THAT HE IS IN A STUDIO AND LOOKS LIKE WORKING FOR SOMETHING…. JJK1 IS COMING. MARK IT,” tweeted another fan.

A fan wrote on Twitter, “SO JJK1 IS COMING AND FROM THE WAY JUNGKOON WAS VIBING SEEMS LIKE ITS GONNA BE AN UPBEAT SONG, RIGHT???? SCREAMING!!!!!!!”

Jungkook’s video could be related to BTS’ upcoming album

In April 2020, RM revealed to ARMY during a YouTube livestream that BTS were preparing a new album. He also told fans that the members would be holding YouTube livestreams to show the band’s album-making process.

Over the past few months, the members of BTS have posted YouTube livestreams, ranging from Suga telling fans that BTS will self-produce the album to a pre-recorded meeting of all seven members discussing what they want the album to be like.

Because YouTube videos of this nature on the BANGTANGTV channel have been associated with BTS’ upcoming album, there is a chance that is what Jungkook was working on in the livestream. Until it is confirmed, all fans can do is speculate. BTS’ album is expected to be released later this year, so we should find out soon enough.
