BTS: Jungkook and RM Show off Their Purple and Pink Hair in New Teaser Photos for ‘Butter’
On May 11, Big Hit Music shared two new teaser photos for BTS’ upcoming single, “Butter.” BTS will release the song on May 21, and it will be the group’s second English-language single. The new teaser photos feature BTS members RM and Jungkook, and in the photos, the members look impressive with their pink and purple hair.
BTS will release a new single called ‘Butter’
On April 26, a livestream was held on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel. During the hour-long livestream, fans watched as an animated stick of butter melted into a heart. At 11 a.m. EDT, the livestream announced that BTS will release “Butter” on May 21 at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST.
After the livestream, a press release was sent out about the single. According to the press release, “‘Butter’ is a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS. This song is the second English single following ‘Dynamite’ released in August last year.”
Big Hit Music released the first teaser for “Butter,” a concept poster, on May 1. The teaser poster shows seven images: yellow balloons, heart-shaped confetti, a drink being poured, toast with heart-shaped butter, a camera with film, spilled gummies, and a crushed lollipop.
After the teaser poster was shared online, concept clips of the BTS members were released on May 3, May 4, and May 5. Each concept clip showed the members interacting with an item from the teaser poster and featured similar music and blue and pink lighting.
RM and Jungkook revealed pink and purple hair in BTS’ new teaser photos
The first teaser photo for “Butter” was shared by Big Hit Music on May 9. In the teaser image, titled “Group Teaser Photo 1,” Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are seen wearing formal attire that is individualized to their personalities.
The BTS members also show off their new hair colors in the group teaser photo. Jin and V both sport dark hair, Suga’s hair appears to be tinted green, J-Hope’s hair is yellow, Jimin has blonde hair with pink and purple highlights, Jungkook’s hair is purple, and RM’s hair is pink.
According to a press release, the first teaser photo for “Butter” is a “charismatic teaser photo where each member is sporting suits and alluring charm of their own.”
Big Hit Music released teaser photos for RM and Jungkook of BTS
On May 11, Big Hit Music published individual teaser photos for Jungkook and RM of BTS. In their individual concept photos, the BTS members wear the same outfits seen in the group teaser photo.
In RM’s photo, the BTS rapper wears a white jacket and hides part of his face with his hands, emphasizing his bright pink hair.
Jungkook’s teaser image shows the BTS singer staring into the camera with his purple hair tied back in a ponytail. If one looks closely, rhinestones resembling a piercing are visible on Jungkook’s right eyebrow.
There will be more teasers for ‘Butter’
The remaining teaser images for “Teaser Photo 1” will be released on May 12 and May 13 at 11 a.m. EDT. Based on RM and Jungkook’s teaser images, one can assume these photos will be individual teasers for Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and V.
On May 16 at 11 a.m. EDT, “Teaser Photo 2” will be posted online. A music video teaser for “Butter” will be released on May 18 at 11 a.m. EDT, and BTS will release “Butter” and its music video on May 21 at midnight EDT.
