BTS put on an online concert called ‘Map of the Soul ON:E’

Earlier this year, BTS’ Map of the Soul Tour was indefinitely postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. To showcase their 2020 album Map of the Soul: 7 and give ARMY some joy during these difficult times, BTS put on a two-day online concert called “Map of the Soul ON:E.”

The concerts took place on Oct. 10 and Oct. 11, and each lasted for over two hours. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook all performed their solo songs from the Map of the Soul era. The rap line performed “UGH!” and the vocal line performed their unit song “00:00 (Zero O’Clock). “ON,” “Dionysus,” “Black Swan,” “Boy With Luv,” and “We Are Bulletproof: the Eternal” were the other songs from the Map of the Soul era that BTS performed.

In addition to these songs from the Map of the Soul era, the group performed their new English-language single “Dynamite” and their older hits: “N.O,” “We Are Bulletproof, Pt.2,” “Boy In Luv,” “DNA,” “Dope,” and “No More Dream.”

The Korean band also mixed up the setlist each day. On Oct. 10, they performed “Butterfly” and “Run.” Then on Oct. 11, the group performed “Spring Day” and “Idol.”

Jungkook’s solo song is called ‘My Time’

On Map of the Soul: 7, each member of the septet has a solo song. Jungkook’s solo song is called “My Time,” and it details the BTS singer’s time as a trainee with Big Hit Entertainment and his experience debuting as an idol with BTS. Jungkook originally joined Big Hit Entertainment as a trainee when he was only a teenager, and now at 23 years old, he is one of the biggest stars in the world.

In the song, Jungkook sings of how his life differs from people his age and that at times, he feels that he is missing out on something.

These thoughts are showcased in the opening verse of “My Time” where Jungkook sings:

“… feels like I became a grown-up faster than everyone else / My life has been a movie, all the time I ran to where the sun rises every single night / It’s like I’ve been to someone’s tomorrow / The boy who found the world too big / Keep on runnin’ errday, mic pic it up / Friends ridin’ subway, I’ll be in the airplane mode / All over the world rock on, I made my own lotto / But is it too fast? There’re traces of losses / Don’t know what to do with, am I livin’ this right? / Why am I alone in a different time and space?”

Jungkook shocked BTS fans with his performances of ‘My Time’

Going into “Map of the Soul ON:E,” ARMY had no idea what to expect from the members’ solo performances. It turns out that the choreography for “My Time” is filled with thigh grabs and Jungkook exposing his chest and abs. On Oct. 10, Jungkook wore a dark jacket and leather jeans to perform the song.

ARMY thought that performance was the end-all-be-all of “My Time,” but Jungkook took it up a notch. On Oct. 11, Jungkook wore a red outfit with an animal-print shirt that was loose-fitting. Combined with the sensual choreography, Jungkook made his performances of “My Time” unforgettable.
