BTS Preview ‘Butter’ With a New Round of Teaser Photos
If the new teaser photos are any indication, BTS’ song “Butter” is about to become the song of the summer, perhaps the song of 2021. On May 16, Big Hit Music released a new set of teaser photos for the upcoming BTS song. With the new photos, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook blew fans away with their visuals and gave another preview of the aesthetic for “Butter.”
BTS released multiple teaser photos for ‘Butter’
The first teaser image for “Butter” was shared on social media on May 9. In the photo, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook stand together while wearing formal attire. Multiple BTS members also debuted new hair colors in the group teaser photo.
RM revealed pink hair in the group teaser, J-Hope dyed his hair yellow, Jungkook posed with his purple hair tied in a ponytail, and Jimin dyed his hair blonde with pink and blue highlights. Jin, Suga, and V all sported dark hair.
A press release described the image as a “charismatic teaser photo where each member is sporting suits and alluring charm of their own.”
Over the next few days, Big Hit Music shared individual teaser photos of each BTS member wearing the same outfits as the first group teaser photo.
BTS shared new teaser photos for ‘Butter’
On May 16, Big Hit Music published a round of teaser photos called “Teaser Photo 2” on social media. The set of images featured a group photo of BTS wearing the same outfits as the first group teaser and individual photos of each BTS member in different outfits.
In the new group photo J-Hope, V, Jin, and Jimin sit in directors chairs while Suga, Jungkook, and RM stand behind them. J-Hope, Suga, Jin, and RM wear white and cream-colored clothes, V wears a bright orange suit, and Jimin and Jungkook both have on gray suits.
The new individual photos of the BTS members deviate from what fans have come to expect from the song’s teasers. Instead of wearing formalwear, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook wear outfits of lace, leather, and denim.
In multiple of the individual teaser photos, the BTS members have yellow props or props related to butter. Jungkook holds a bowl of popcorn in his lap, Suga sits with a yellow cup, and J-Hope looks like he is about to eat a stack of pancakes.
The band will release ‘Butter’ on May 21
BTS first announced they would release “Butter” with a livestream on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel on April 26. The livestream took place from 10 a.m. EDT to 11 a.m. EDT and for an hour, ARMY watched an animated stick of butter melt into the shape of a heart.
A press release was shared after the livestream, and according to the press release “‘Butter’ is a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS. This song is the second English single following ‘Dynamite’ released in August last year.”
On May 18 at 11 a.m. EDT, Big Hit Music will share a teaser for the “Butter” music video. BTS will release “Butter” and its music video on May 21 at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST.
