BTS Reveal Striking New Hair Colors in the First Teaser Photo for ‘Butter’

On May 21, BTS will release their second English-language single, 'Butter.' Leading up to the song's release, the band and Big Hit Music are releasing multiple teasers to build anticipation for the song. Big Hit Music released the first teaser photo for 'Butter' on May 9, and in the teaser image the members of BTS showed off new hairstyles.

BTS will release their new English-language single “Butter” on May 21. To build anticipation for the song, Big Hit Music is releasing teaser photos and video clips. On May 9, Big Hit Music shared the first teaser image for “Butter,” and BTS members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook showed off their new hairstyles in the photo.

BTS released the first teaser photo for ‘Butter’

In the first teaser image for “Butter,” titled “Group Teaser Photo 1,” the members of BTS wear dashing formal attire and show off new hair colors. Suga stands front and center wearing a white blazer and his hair appears to be tinted green.

Jin also wears all white while his hair is dark and slicked back. J-Hope poses in a white button-down with cream-colored pants in the photo, and the teaser photo reveals that his hair is bright yellow.

Both Jungkook and Jimin don gray suits. To add to his look, Jimin’s hair is blonde with blue and pink highlights, and he also wears a pair of large sunglasses in the teaser image. Meanwhile, Jungkook wows with his long purple hair that is tied back into a ponytail.

Like Jin, V also has dark hair, but he contrasts this with an orange suit. On Twitter, RM previously revealed that he dyed his hair pink for the comeback, and his pink hair is visible in the “Butter” teaser photo.

According to a press release, the first teaser photo for “Butter” is a “charismatic teaser photo where each member is sporting suits and alluring charm of their own.”

What we know about BTS’ song ‘Butter’

BTS first announced they would release “Butter” on April 26 with a livestream on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel. From 10 a.m. EDT to 11 a.m. EDT, fans watched as an animated stick of butter melted into the shape of a heart.

At the end of the livestream, it was announced that “Butter” will be released on May 21 at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST.

According to a press release that was sent out after the announcement of the single, “‘Butter’ is a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS. This song is the second English single following ‘Dynamite’ released in August last year.”

BTS will release more teasers for the song

The first teaser released for “Butter” was a teaser poster that was shared online on May 1. The poster featured seven images of yellow balloons, heart-shaped confetti, a drink in a glass, toast with heart-shaped butter, a camera with film, spilled gummy candy, and a crushed lollipop.

Subsequent concept clips of the individual BTS members were released on May 3, May 4, and May 5. All of the BTS members’ concept clips featured blue and pink lighting, instrumental music, and the members interacting with an item from the concept poster.

Following the first teaser photo, teaser images for “Butter” will be released at 11 a.m. EDT on May 11, May 12, and May 13. Big Hit Music will share a teaser photo called “Teaser Photo 2” on May 16 at 11 a.m. EDT.

On May 18, BTS will release a music video teaser for “Butter” at 11 a.m. EDT. “Butter” and the single’s music video will be released at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST on May 21.
