BTS Reveal the Concert Lineup for ‘Bang Bang Con 21’

BTS began the 'Bang Bang Con' concert series in 2020. With the virtual event, BTS fans are able to livestream past BTS concerts for free. The K-pop group announced the event will return on April 17 as 'Bang Bang Con 21,' and this year three different BTS concerts will be livestreamed.

BTS will put on “Bang Bang Con 21,” a special virtual concert event, on April 17. “Bang Bang Con” was started in 2020 and allows ARMY to watch past BTS concerts for free. On April 11, it was revealed which past concert experiences will be livestreamed during “Bang Bang Con 21.”

BTS announced the return of ‘Bang Bang Con’

On April 10, BTS announced on social media that “Bang Bang Con” will return on April 17. The initial announcement featured an image with a yellow background and a pink tablet with the words “BANG BANG CON 21” on the screen.

Surrounding the graphic of the tablet are analog emojis of a heart, exclamation point, magnifying glass, and an hourglass. At the top of the photo, a cursor emoji points at a button for the BANGTANTV YouTube channel.

The first announcement for “Bang Bang Con 21” did not give away much about the virtual event. Based on the fact the teaser image hinted it would take place on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel, fans were able to deduce “Bang Bang Con 21” would be a replay of past concerts.

‘Bang Bang Con 21’ will feature three BTS concerts

BTS confirmed “Bang Bang Con 21” is a livestream of past concerts on April 11 with a second teaser image on Twitter. The promotional image showed digital designs of the BTS members’ individual concept photos from their 2020 album BE beside dates and times for the concerts.

BTS Live Trilogy EP. 1 BTS Begins (Memories of 2015) will begin streaming on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel at 2 a.m. EDT and 3 p.m. KST on April 17.

The second concert, BTS 5th muster [Magic Shop] in Busan, will begin on April 17 at 4:40 a.m. EDT and 5:40 p.m. KST. BTS World Tour Speak Yourself in Sao Paulo will be livestreamed at 6:40 a.m. EDT and 7:40 p.m. KST on April 17.

The virtual concert series began in 2020

The first “Bang Bang Con” took place on April 18, 2020, and April 19, 2020. During the two-day concert series, eight BTS concerts were streamed on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel for ARMY to watch for free.

The eight concerts that were streamed during the first “Bang Bang Con” event were:

  • 2015 BTS LIVE: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life On Stage
  • 2016 BTS LIVE [The Most Beautiful Moment in Life On Stage: Epilogue]
  • BTS 2014 Live Trilogy: Episode II The Red Bullet (2014 Memories)

While it appears “Bang Bang Con 21” will be a shorter event, it will show three concerts that were not included in last year’s livestream. “Bang Bang Con 21” will also take fans back to the nostalgia and joy of 2019 with concerts from BTS 5th Muster and the band’s Love Yourself: Speak Yourself tour.

After the first “Bang Bang Con” streamed for free on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel in 2020, BTS put on a live virtual concert for fans on June 14, 2020.

The live concert was called “Bang Bang Con The Live” and fans purchased tickets for the virtual event. So far, there is no word on if BTS will have a second “Bang Bang Con The Live” after “Bang Bang Con 21.”
