BTS Show Their Love for ‘Titanic’ in a New ‘Run BTS!’ Episode
The variety show Run BTS! premiered on VLIVE in 2015 and since 2020 is available to watch on both VLIVE and Weverse. In the web series, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook of BTS take part in competitions and games. On March 2, Episode 131 of Run BTS! premiered, and the members showed their love for the 1997 movie Titanic.
BTS played a game in a pool on ‘Run BTS!’
Episode 131 of Run BTS! featured water activities. The episode was filmed at a hotel pool in Seoul. As a warm-up for the episode’s main activity, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook played a game in the pool.
For the warm-up game, the BTS members were split up in pairs to play the palm push game. Each pair was carried out to the center of the pool on a float. While standing on the float, the members pushed against the other’s palms to try and knock them off balance.
Jimin and Suga competed against each other first. After losing his balance, Suga wrapped his arms around Jimin and the two fell in the water together. V and J-Hope went next, and V won after J-Hope fell in the pool.
Jin and RM then competed against one another, and after a stalemate, RM pulled Jin into the water. Jimin proceeded to play the game twice and competed against Jungkook.
The BTS members referenced ‘Titanic’ on ‘Run BTS!’
As Jimin and Jungkook were brought out to the center of the pool, Jimin outstretched his arms and Jungkook placed his hands on Jimin’s waist, mimicking Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio’s iconic pose from Titanic.
The BTS members proceeded to sing Celine Dion’s song “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic, showing their appreciation for the song and the movie.
While the BTS members sang, the episode’s subtitles read, “Kate Mins-let and Leonardo Jung-Caprio,” combining Jimin and Jungkook’s names with Winslet and DiCaprio, the lead actors in Titanic.
“Jack come back,” J-Hope joked, referencing DiCaprio’s character Jack Dawson.
Jimin and Jungkook played the game for a few minutes, and when it seemed like no one would win, Jimin playfully shoved Jungkook into the water. While Jungkook was the one who fell in the water, Jimin’s move disqualified him and Jungkook won the round.
The BTS members debated during ‘Run BTS!’
For the main event of Run BTS!, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook participated in a 77-minute debate. While one member acted as a moderator, the other six members split up into teams of three to debate a topic for 11 minutes.
At the beginning of the first debate, each BTS member wrote “Run BTS” on their hand. Meanwhile, Run BTS! staff secretly assigned each team with a forbidden word, and all seven members were assigned forbidden actions.
If anyone unknowingly said the forbidden word or did a forbidden action, the members were sprayed with water. Whoever has the most writing remaining on their hands at the end of the 77-minute debate will win a gift certificate for the hotel where filming took place.
Episode 131 of Run BTS! showed three of the seven debates. The remaining debates will be shown in Episode 132, so ARMY will have to wait a few days to find out who wins the game.
