BTS’ Suga is an award-winning musician with a pretty obvious appreciation for Spotify. During the American Music Awards, this K-pop idol mentioned that he listens to his Spotify Daily Mix. Not just one, though — he likes all five of the personalized playlists.

This K-pop group is smooth like butter. They’re also the world’s biggest boy band, taking home several titles at the 2021 American Music Awards.

The K-pop group won Favorite Pop Duo or Group for the third year in a row. They snagged the Favorite Pop Song award for “Butter.” BTS also became the first Asian group to win the night’s top award — Artist of the Year.

The American Music Awards were filled with memorable moments for ARMYs. Months after the release of “Chicken Noodle Soup,” Becky G. reunited with rapper J-Hope. Chloe Bailey fangirled over meeting the K-pop group on the red carpet, with RM even telling her to break a leg during her upcoming “Have Mercy” performance.

Of course, BTS also returned to the stage for one of their first in-person performances of 2021 during the award ceremony. The K-pop group joined Coldplay for a live version of “My Universe,” later closing out the night with “Butter.”

BTS’ Suga listens to (and loves) his Spotify ‘Daily Mix’ playlists

While on the red carpet, the BTS members stopped to chat with several news outlets, as seen during a BangtanTV episode. That includes the music streaming platform, Spotify, where one interviewer asked BTS about their favorite parts of the music service.

Suga quickly came in with a joke, mentioning the Spotify “Daily Mix.” Not just one, though. Suga loves all five of his Spotify Daily Mixes. Jungkook and V chimed in shortly after, saying that they listen to the “Today’s Top Hits” Spotify playlist.

To be fair, though, Suga shared that he doesn’t often listen to music, and is actually “trying to love music less.” It’s this distance that keeps him passionate about songwriting and performing.

All seven BTS members created Spotify playlists of their favorite songs

The BTS members actually created their own personalized playlists for ARMYs. There, each idol shared some of his favorite BTS tracks, as well as hit songs recorded and performed by other artists.

The “Jungkook’s Favorite Tracks” playlist has over a million likes, with this vocalist adding “Permission to Dance,” “Butterfly,” “Euphoria,” and “Lost” among other hits from the K-pop group. “RM’s Favorite Tracks” includes “Leave the Door Open” by Silk Sonic and “Self Care” by Mac Miller.

BTS is also known for its record-breaking Spotify streaming numbers. Jimin is the first and only Korean soloist to have 600 million combined streams on Spotify with only four tracks — “Filter,” “Lie,” “Serendipity (Full Length Edition),” and “Intro: Serendipity.” In honor of each member’s birthday, ARMYs also set streaming goals on solo songs.
