BTS’ Suga Reveals How Long It Took To Write ‘Telepathy’: ‘It Was Easy’
Several BTS members had a hand at writing and producing songs from Be (Deluxe Edition.) V co-wrote āBlue & Grey,ā while Suga, J-Hope, and RM teamed up for the title track, āLife Goes On.āĀ
Hereās what the dancer and rapper, Suga, had to say about creating āTelepathy,ā one of the songs BTS performed on MTV Unplugged.
BTSā Suga co-wrote and co-produced āTelepathyā from āBe (Deluxe Edition)ā
Suga may be a savage rapper and talented dancer, but heās also a writer and producer for the K-pop group BTS. When it came to the groupās 2020 release, Be (Deluxe Edition,) Suga was behind the song āTelepathy,ā in addition to his role with the song āLife Goes On.ā
āI tried a melody for the first time this year (2020), and as I started knowing the fun of music, it opened a lot of new doors for me,ā Suga said during an interview with Weverse Magazine. āSo, it was kind of easy working on it.Ā
āI just played a beat and wrote from the beginning until the end. Done,ā he continued. āI wrote it in just 30 minutes. The song almost wrote itself. The trends of pop and hip-hop these days cross boundaries between vocals and rap. I like this trend.ā
Suga discussed āTelepathyā when BTS performed on āMTV Unpluggedā
Although BTS is socially distant from fans, the group had to chance to perform some recently released songs with their MTV Unplugged segment. Of course, their setlist included āDynamite,ā BTSā first Grammy-nominated single.
The group performed āBlue & Greyā and āTelepathyā from Be (Deluxe Edition,) marking the first time they performed these āb-sideā tracks for fans. (This was also one of the first performances featuring Suga since his shoulder surgery and subsequent recovery.) Additionally, they did a cover of āFix Youā by Coldplay.
Suga co-wrote and co-produced several BTS songs
āTelepathyā isnāt the only song written and produced by Suga. According to BTS Fandom, Suga has songwriting credits for āBoy In Luv,ā as well as producing credits for songs like āMake It Right,ā āBoy With Luv,ā āON,ā and āOutro: Tear.ā
During one interview with Jimmy Fallon, Suga even shared that if he wasnāt in BTS, he would probably be a songwriter or producer. Aside from his work with the award-winning K-pop group, BTS, Suga also releases solo music under the stage name Agust D.Ā
He appeared on songs by other artists, including Halseyās āSugaās Interludeā for the album titled Manic. The āLife Goes Onā music video, featuring Suga and the other BTS members, is now available on YouTube.Ā
