BTS’ Suga Has This DC Superhero as a Fashion Inspiration
RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook each have their own unique fashion sense. That includes one of the rappers in the group, who shouted out a DC superhero as one of his style inspirations.
Here’s what we know about some of the fashion behind the BTS performers.
Suga is 1 of the rappers in the award-winning K-pop group, BTS
There are three rappers in this K-pop group, each of them with their own music style and fashion sense. One of those performers, Suga, has a number of solo songs like “Interlude: Shadow” off of Map of the Soul: 7.
As the group’s resident savage, this K-pop idol performs songs like “Boy With Luv,” “On,” and “Dynamite” with the other BTS members, even having a hand in the writing process. When it comes to fashion, though, Suga shouted out one superhero as a major fashion and life inspiration.
Who is Suga’s fashion inspiration?
From just hanging out during live streams to performing on stage to thousands of fans, there are a few different fashionistas. During an interview with GQ, each of the BTS members discussed their fashion inspirations.
For J-Hope he listed himself. Jungkook said the leader of BTS, RM, give him some inspiration. When it came to Suga, he mentioned one of his favorite superheroes, Batman from The Dark Knight.
“He’s one of the few superheroes who’s a weak human, and I just like that about him,” Suga said of his fashion inspiration.
“My mother liked clothes a lot, so as a child, I was mostly very well-dressed,” Suga continued. “As a teenager, I preferred more flashy, stand-out clothes. Now that I’m an adult, I value comfort in my attire. I wear what makes me comfortable.”
This darkness and mystery definitely translates into Suga’s solo music, released under the stage name Agust D. During May 2020, he released his second mixtape D-2, along with the music video for “Daechwita.”
The BTS members are known for taking bold risks with fashion
They’re known for their music and their dance moves, but these performers are also known for their fashion. For the “Dynamite” music video, each of them had retro, colorful clothes to make the vibe of the song.
For Suga, that includes purple-ish, black, blond, pink, and even green colors. For the “Daechwita” music video, Suga sported a scar across his eye. (Don’t worry, though, it was a fake scar to match the theme of the song.)
The “Dynamite” music video is now available on YouTube. Music by BTS, including their recently released album, Map of the Soul: 7, is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major platforms.
