While Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook of BTS are currently on vacation, it is clear ARMY will not be getting a break. On Dec. 19, V shared a new Instagram story showing off his new facial hair. While the BTS singer eventually deleted the video, V’s Instagram story briefly broke the internet as BTS fans reacted to the video.

BTS’ V posted a shirtless video on his Instagram account

In V’s now-deleted Instagram story, the BTS singer posted a shirtless video of himself with a black-and-white filter. In the video, V sported stubble as he showed off his Christmas decorations.

After V posted on Instagram, phrases like “SHIRTLESS,” “EXCUSE ME SIR,” and “WTF KIM TAEHYUNG” began trending on Twitter.

“Wow, beard and clavicle? If anyone asks for me, I’ll be laying in my grave now,” one BTS fan wrote on Reddit.

Another fan wrote on Reddit, “He came through with the facial hair!!”

“how many more days of tae quarantine do we have cause this has been INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT,” wrote a Reddit user.

“It took me like 20 minutes for my heart rate to return to normal. This isn’t even a joke,” one ARMY wrote on Reddit.

The BTS members are currently on vacation

Following the band’s successful Permission to Dance On Stage – LA concerts, Big Hit Music announced BTS will take an “extended period of rest” for the holidays.

The official statement about BTS’ break was published on Big Hit Music’s Twitter on Dec. 5.

In the statement, Big Hit Music wrote:

“We would like to inform you that BTS is planning to take a second official extended period of rest since their first in 2019 after they complete their official scheduled events of ‘BTS Permission To Dance On Stage- LA’ and the ‘2021 Jingle Ball Tour.’

BTS stayed active in order to engage with fans in 2020 and 2021 amidst the COVID-19 situation, and achieved dazzling results to cement themselves as top global artists.

This period of rest will provide the members of BTS who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy. It will also be the first time for them since their debut to spend the holiday season with their families. We kindly ask once again that you show consideration for their need to enjoy ordinary and free, everyday lives while solely concentrating on themselves, albeit for a short while, during their period of rest.

BTS will be focusing on preparing for the concert and release of the new album that will mark the beginning of a ‘new chapter.’ They are preparing for a concert this coming March to connect and communicate with the fans in-person in Seoul.”
