BTS: V Had His Friends Send Jin Birthday Wishes to Make Him Feel Appreciated
On Dec. 4, Jin of BTS turned 28 years old internationally and 29 years old in South Korea. To celebrate his birthday, the BTS singer released an original song titled “Abyss” and he held a VLIVE to talk with BTS’ fan base, ARMY. On the VLIVE, Jin revealed a special way that BTS’ V made him feel appreciated on his birthday.
BTS fans celebrated Jin’s birthday
The Korean band is made up of seven members: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Jin is the oldest member, and he is beloved by BTS fans for his good looks, powerful voice, humor, and kind nature.
Because of his handsome features, Jin is affectionately known as Worldwide Handsome. To spend time with fans, the singer hosts a mukbang show on VLIVE called “Eat Jin.” While he eats and describes his meal, he reads fans’ questions and answers them.
Fans particularly admire Jin’s dedication to singing and the empowering solo songs he has released on BTS’ albums. “Awake” was released on Wings in 2016, “Epiphany” was released on Love Yourself: Answer in 2018, and “Moon” was released on Map of the Soul: 7 in 2020.
Jin also released his own solo song “Tonight” for BTS FESTA in 2019 and “Abyss” for his birthday in 2020. On Dec. 4, ARMY celebrated Jin’s birthday by trending hashtags including #HappyJINDay, #OurMoonJinDay, and #BrightestDiamondJin.
Jin stayed up hoping to receive birthday wishes
Jin held his birthday VLIVE on Dec. 4. He told ARMY that his day was spent filming content with the members, but he was able to leave early in order to film the VLIVE. Toward the beginning of the livestream, Jin received a text from V and Jin decided to call him. After they hung up, Jin shared a sweet story about how V made him feel appreciated on his birthday.
“Last night, work wrapped up late, so I was really tired and needed to sleep. But just in case, I stayed up… thinking that people might send me birthday wishes. So just in case, I stayed up until 1 a.m.,” Jin said according to Soompi.
He continued, “I got messages from my mom, my older brother, two BTS members including J-Hope, a childhood friend, and an employee from our company. That was it. I waited until 1 a.m., but I didn’t get many messages, which made me really sad. It made me think, ‘I must not have lived my life properly.'”
V helped Jin feel appreciated on his birthday
Jin told the BTS members that he did not receive many birthday wishes and decided to go to bed. When he woke up, he had received more birthday wishes. It turns out V encouraged his friends to send Jin messages so he could feel appreciated.
“I had received about 10 messages. So I [changed my mind] and thought, ‘I did live my life properly after all,'” he said. “At any rate, many of V’s friends including Park Seo Joon sent me video messages, so that I wouldn’t feel insecure—to show me how many people were thinking of me and celebrating my birthday… it was so touching. I was really moved by V, and I was so grateful to him for having organized it.”
Thanks to V, Jin’s birthday was made even more special, and as always it is clear the BTS members love and care for one another like family.
