Does V have a mixtape?

In March 2020, V first began hinting at his mixtape during a live stream with his bandmate and friend RM. He explained to the BTS ARMY that he had been working on some solo music for some time but that he only had three songs recorded. One of the songs, “Sweet Night,” can be heard in Netflix’s K-Drama Itaewon Class.

Later in the BTS’ docuseries Break The Silence, V got candid about some of the struggles he was facing with regards to his mixtape. He explained that songwriting and being responsible for every single lyric was a lot more challenging than he anticipated.

“I won’t be able to write poetic lyrics like Namjoon (RM), but I’d like to write lyrics that convey my true feelings,” he said. “It’s not easy. How do I get my true feelings across?”

What songs will be on V’s mixtape?

Despite his songwriting challenges, V has continued working on his solo music, giving his fans sneaks peaks as his sound and his mixtape. During a June 9, 2020 livestream, V revealed that amid quarantine, he’d been writing a ton every single day. He revealed that it was “the life” he’d been living on a daily basis.

“I don’t know how many songs I’ve got that will go on the mixtape, but I think I’ve got about eight songs written,” V explained. “I want to only give ARMY good songs, so I’m thinking a lot while I write them.”

Throughout the year, V has been giving the ARMY samples of his uncoming mixtape which all seem to include romantic lyrics backed by bluesy instrumentals.

In a Nov. 2020 press conference about BTS’ latest album BE V said, “While creating [BE], it did not include the classic and jazz style, but the mixtape I’m preparing soon will have those kinds of vibes.”
