Apparently, Kylie Jenner’s inclusion in Cardi B and Megan The Stallion’s new music video isn’t the only criticism of the visual. CeeLo Green isn’t a fan of the rappers’ sexually liberating lyrics or choices in fashion. The Gnarles Barkley member’s recent comments about Cardi and Stallion have fans side eying him. Fans are calling out The Voice judge for hypocrisy over his own racy lyrics and allegations of sexual assault.

CeeLo Green’s comments about Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B

In a recent interview with Far Out Magazine, Green offers his opinion on the current state of hip hop, particularly among female rappers. Green feels the lyrics are provocative in many female rappers’ songs, naming both Cardi and Stallion.

His comments come in the aftermath of Cardi and Stallion’s new collaboration, “WAP.”

“Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, they are all more or less doing similar salacious gesturing to kinda get into position. I get it, the independent woman and being in control, the divine femininity and sexual expression. I get it all. It comes at what cost?” he asks.

Green also refers to the rappers’ choices as “desperate” and “shameless.” He also names Nicki Minaj in his criticisms.

CeeLo Green’s controversial lyrics and rape allegations

Green may not appreciate Cardi and Stallion’s raunchy music, but he’s not exempt from singing about similar sexual themes. In fact, many of Green’s songs include such innuendos. Madame Noire points out that one of Gnarles Barkey’s songs, “Necromancer,” even hints of drugging a woman for sex.

“I’d have my way with what’s left of the will in her / Cosmopolitans and cocaine and an occasional pill in her,” he sings.

Considering Green’s own allegations of sexual assault, the lyrics are even more controversial.

In 2014, Green pleaded not guilty to rape after a woman accused him of slipping her an ecstasy tablet in her drink during a date. The Guardian reveals that the woman claims she remembers nothing between dinner and waking up naked in Green’s bed the following morning.

The rape charge was lessened to felony assault. Green pled no contest and was sentenced to probation and community service. He later tweeted and deleted “If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent.” Green later apologized for his remarks.

“Imagine a man who allegedly drugged women, raped them & said it’s consent if they are unconscious speaking on what’s appropriate or not! Sit your whack a** down @CeeLoGreen,” one Twitter user says.
