After competing on MTV’s The Challenge for 10 years, fan-favorite Leroy Garrett announced his retirement from the franchise. Currently a barber in Houston, Texas, the reality star seemingly still has an itch to compete as he recently noted he wants to join the cast of CBS’ Celebrity Big Brother 3.

‘Big Brother: Celebrity Edition’ season 3 returning Winter 2021

Following a successful second season of Celebrity Big Brother, CBS hadn’t announced if it renewed the popular spinoff series.

After a two-year break, the network revealed the third season would return in Winter 2021 with a new star-studded lineup of houseguests competing for the title and prize.

The 24/7 Live Feeds are still available for subscribed fans to watch the familiar faces form alliances, strategize, and chit-chat throughout their typical month-long stay in the house. Similar to the original series, much of the content that viewers find most interesting doesn’t make the hour-long episodes.

CBS has yet to announce the lineup, but Dec. 2020 reports claimed producers want to cast former White House counselor KellyAnne Conway, a Real Housewives star, celebrity chef, and memorable face from popular Netflix series, Tiger King, such as Carole Baskin, who also briefly appeared on Dancing with the Stars, Dillon Passage, Doc Antle, and John Finlay.

Leroy Garrett retired from ‘The Challenge’ following season 36

In 2011, The Real World: Las Vegas star Leroy Garrett debuted on The Challenge: Rivals, and he made it to the finals as a rookie.

After going home early for the next three seasons, he finished second in Battle of the Exes II, walking away with $35,000.

He was eliminated before the finals for the next three seasons and lost the last challenge during Vendettas. Although Leroy competed in the finals during his last two seasons, he couldn’t get a win. Following Double Agents, the reality star announced his retirement.

Throughout his 12 seasons spanning 10 years, he won $36,500. Leroy, who is currently dating co-star Kam Williams, has relocated to Houston, Texas, where he runs a barbershop.

He wants to compete in ‘Celebrity Big Brother 3’

Even though Leroy has made it clear he doesn’t have any interest in competing in another season of The Challenge, the likable personality wants to try his hand in Celebrity Big Brother.

In an Oct. 2021 tweet, he tagged the official Big Brother Twitter account, writing, “hi,” with an emoji of a man raising his hand. He then hashtagged “Season 3 Pick Me” alongside a picture of the logo.

One user replied, “I would love to see you on Big Brother,” and Leroy responded, “It’s going to happen.” Several more followers backed his desire to compete on the show, noting they thought he would perform well.

However, others noticed Leroy seemingly relied on his physical strength during the MTV competition series and didn’t develop a social game as much, which is more necessary when competing on Big Brother. Will The Challenge star make the crossover? Celebrity Big Brother 3 premieres in Winter 2021.
