We all know that celebrities live very different lives from everyday people. From the cars they drive to the clothes they wear to the houses they live in, many celebrities use their wealth and status to make a statement.

This lavish lifestyle definitely extends to their beauty routines. To be fair, there is a lot riding on many celebrities’ looks. Flawless skin, perfectly placed makeup, and treatments to combat the effects of aging can be an important part of ensuring their place in careers as models, actors, and influencers where their face is often scrutinized and showcased everywhere from billboards to magazine covers.

With that in mind, it shouldn’t surprise us when a celebrity drops a lot of cash on something that we could never afford. Still, hearing that Celine Dion spent $2 million on a humidifier is enough to give anyone pause.

Dion is a 52-year-old Canadian native who has been in the spotlight for years thanks to her incredible singing voice. Music ran in the family, and Dion was working on her professional singing career by the age of 12.

In the early 1990s, Dion saw her fame rise across America. When she performed the theme song for Disney’s animated Beauty and the Beast, she had a real hit on her hands and earned herself a Grammy and an Oscar.

Her career has been punctuated by stunning achievements. She became the first woman to ever perform two songs at the Oscars in 1997. She earned herself yet another Oscar for what has become one of her most famous songs, “My Heart Will Go On” from the hit film Titanic.

She has seen her success decline some since that peak, but who could really maintain that level of fame for long? She is still going strong with a meaningful career and several residencies in Las Vegas where crowds are still happy to see her perform.

Body shaming comments have no place for Celine Dion

Dion has faced some serious personal tragedies. She married René Angélil and had three children with him, but he tragically died from throat cancer in 2016. Facing the tough journey of raising her children alone, Dion rededicated herself to her career and has been busier than ever in recent years.

In 2017, she reprised her former success by recording another song for Disney — this time for the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast. She has also managed to turn heads with her stunning fashion choices, which has kept her looks under constant scrutiny.

In 2019, Dion faced harsh criticism from online commenters who believed that her slim figure was too thin. Dion made it abundantly clear that she has no time for such negativity and commentary.

“I take the positive. I take what’s good for me. I leave behind what is not good for me. I let my management take care of that, and if it hurts anyone, they will take care of that. And I need to focus on what’s right for me, how I feel and, last but not least, you can’t please everybody,” the star explained.

Skincare is a top priority for Celine Dion

She may not have any time for the criticism of distant fans on the internet, but she clearly has some priorities when it comes to her looks. Dion booked several long runs of performances in Las Vegas, but that meant that she would be working in the extremely dry air of the desert climate.

Like many people, she turned to a humidifier to help combat the problem. Unlike most other people, however, Dion made sure that she had only the very best humidifier to ensure radiant skin and the proper conditions for her most famous instrument: her voice. The star spent an astounding $2 million on the device.
