Chase Stokes has a successful career

Thanks to the wildly popular Netflix series Outer Banks, Stokes has experienced a ton of success. Ironically, Stokes almost turned down the role of John B. “The first time I got the audition it was the most bland email I’ve ever got,” Stokes explained to Barstool Sports’ Chicks in the Office. “It was four friends on a treasure hunt, Netflix, and the character’s name was John B. So I was like, ‘This is f*ucking Goonies. It’s a Goonies reboot.’ I said no.”

Stokes didn’t want to mess with something as iconic as The Goonies, but his agent — who is good friends with showrunner Jonas Pate — convinced him to give the script another read-through. “I read the pilot, and I’m like ‘Oh my god, this is not The Goonies,” Stokes added. “I screwed this up so bad.” Still, Stokes passed his audition with flying colors. Now, he’s the leading heartthrob on the series.

Antoni Porowski is ‘Queer Eye’s resident food and wine expert

On the original series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Food Network’s Ted Allen handled food and drink. Now, that role is Antoni Porowski’s on the Netflix reboot Queer Eye. Whether he’s educating a hero on the best dishes for a crowd or simply inspiring them to make healthier choices in the kitchen, Porowski is a kind and reassuring force that completes the modern-day Fab Five.

Chase Stokes wants Antoni Porowski’s job

In a post to his Instagram Stories on July 7, Stokes called Porowski to the carpet. “[Antoni], I’m coming 4 ur job,” Stokes captioned a video of himself frying up what appeared to be crab cakes. The novice chef showed off his skills in the kitchen, zooming in to a frying pan with oil, a large mixing bowl full of fresh ingredients, and of course, the finished product — fresh crab cakes fried to a golden brown. Porowski would be proud!

‘Outer Banks’ Fans Appreciate the Show’s Ability to Tackle Tough Issues

Rest easy, Queer Eye fans. Porowski has nothing to worry about. Based on previous posts, Stokes is a jokester and was only jesting with the Fab Five’s king of the kitchen. Plus, Stokes wouldn’t likely have time to film for both Queer Eye and Outer Banks. Showrunner Pate sees the show as a “four-season, maybe five-season show, but definitely four seasons,” according to Entertainment Weekly. That means plenty of work for Stokes in the future.

Just in case, Antoni has a backup career

While Porowski doesn’t have anything to worry about in terms of job security, he is working on other projects outside of Queer Eye. Like Stokes, Porowski is taking his charm to a fictional role in the upcoming rom-com, Girls and Boys. “Porowski developed the story with Black-ish creative Kenya Barris,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Barris, who has a rich overall television deal with the streamer, will produce under his banner Khalabo Ink Society.” The movie will tell the story of a sexually fluid protagonist. Many of Porowski’s fans are excited to see his new endeavor!
