Fans want to know what’s going on with Stella Kidd in Chicago Fire Season 10. Are Stella Kidd and Kelly Severide still together for the Chicago Fire Season 10 fall finale? In episode 8, fans saw Severide talking to Christopher Herrmann about his relationship with Kidd. While he certainly loves her and wants her to succeed in her Girls on Fire program, her time away from Chicago might be putting a serious strain on their relationship.

“I know Girls on Fire really means a lot to her, it’s just we’ve never had this much distance between us,” Severide admitted, TV Insider reminds fans. “I don’t know what’s going on with her, or where we’re going to be when she does come back.”

Stella Kidd comes back before the calendar year ends, promised showrunner Derek Haas. That means she’ll make an appearance in the holiday special/fall season finale. But it’s uncertain what her relationship with Severide will look like upon her return.

While fans can’t wait to see Stella Kidd and Kelly Severide eventually reunite, it’s unclear exactly what will happen with their romance in Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 9. According to Kidd actor Miranda Rae Mayo, Kidd doesn’t necessarily want to get married.

“I don’t think Stella wants to get married; I think she just wants to be with Kelly,” Mayo told Monsters & Critics. “I think if Kelly proposed to her, I think, because it’s him, she would take it on board. As far as, ‘Want to get married!’ No!”

With that said, Kidd has experienced serious growth since her time joining the firehouse. “Intimacy happens in all shapes and sizes, but I think that there is something to be said about the person that you are romantically intimate with,” she added. “You’re connecting on a level that you’re not connecting with anyone else, so I definitely think that some of that growth is from her relationship with Severide, but more than that it’s 1,000% the firehouse, who her chief is, the people that she is surrounded by, the way they work, the way they love each other, the way that they go to bat for each other, the way they argue and have their disagreements, and still come back together.”

The ‘Chicago Fire’ showrunner gave clues the couple’s wedding is still in the works

With everything Mayo admitted about Stella Kidd, will a Stella Kidd/Kelly Severide wedding still happen? While showrunner Derek Haas hasn’t given any details about what the wedding may look like, it seems like it’s in the works. Additionally, it sounds like Matt Casey (played by Jesse Spencer) may rejoin the crew to take part in the wedding as one of Severide’s groomsmen.

During an interview with Us Weekly, the topic of the future wedding came up. “You know, here’s the thing — I never try to predict what’s going to happen production-wise, but we’re in the camp of whenever Jesse [Spencer] wants to come do an episode with us, we will move mountains and earth to make that happen,” Haas said. “We’ve been talking. We’ve got some ideas of what that would be. I’d say you hit the nail on the head of what some of those moments might be.”

Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 9, the holiday episode and fall season finale, airs Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
