NBC’s One Chicago fans can get excited about more holiday cheer. While Chicago P.D. Season 9, Chicago Med Season 7, and Chicago Fire Season 10 are currently on yet another holiday hiatus, loyal viewers can gear up for a special downloadable surprise. Here’s what the cast and crew created for fans while they await new episodes.

Chicago P.D. Season 9, Chicago Fire Season 10, and Chicago Med Season 7 had their fall season finales in December 2021. While fans of Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med hoped for a holiday special for episode 9, Chicago Fire Season 10 really delivered. Episode 9 of Chicago Fire brought plenty of surprises as well as a Christmas theme, and showrunner Derek Haas told fans that even the Hallmark Channel would feel “jealous” for what they had in store.

“For the first time in years, as long as I can remember, we’re doing a holiday episode,” Haas told TVLine. “Episode 9 is going to make the Hallmark Channel jealous of our holiday episode.”

Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 9 left off with Stella Kidd’s return and Kelly Severide’s shock. The Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med fall season finales also tied up a few loose ends. In Chicago P.D. Season 9 Episode 9, Hailey Upton and Jay Halstead eloped without telling the rest of the Intelligence Unit.

The One Chicago cast and crew created a holiday cookbook fans can download for free

While Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 9 viewers got to see plenty of holiday cheer in the episode, One Chicago fans can gear up for another surprise. According to People, the cast and crew of the One Chicago shows created the One Chicago Holiday Cookbook — a free downloadable cookbook fans can access on the Wolf Entertainment website.

“For the past 10 years, you have invited us into your living rooms as ‘One Night, One Family, One Chicago,'” show creator Dick Wolf wrote in the intro of the book. “With the holidays approaching, it is our turn to invite you into our kitchens to share some tasty treats and family secrets. In these pages, you’ll find some of our favorite recipes and photos, along with the memories that make them special to us. We hope you’ll enjoy them, and that they might find a festive place at your table in this season.”

The cookbook contains over 20 recipes from the cast that range from appetizers to desserts. Each page of the digital cookbook shows the cast member who shared the recipe and their personal story behind the food.
