Is Chicago P.D. Season 9 new tonight, Feb. 2, 2022? Unfortunately, fans won’t have episode 13 to look forward to for the first Wednesday of February. NBC will once again play a rerun of an older episode. On Feb. 2, the network will replay season 9 episode 4, “In the Dark.”

According to IMDb, the synopsis for the episode reads, “When Upton and Ruzek answer an emergency call to an abandoned house, their investigation leads them down a dark path. Upton feels the pressure of the secret she and Voight are sharing.”

The week prior, NBC played another season 9 repeat as well. While fans want new content, the early season 9 episodes serve as good reminders of how far the Intelligence Unit has come when dealing with Roy Walton’s death and the FBI.

After Chicago P.D. Season 9 ends, will fans get another season? NBC hasn’t made any new announcements about Chicago P.D. Season 10, but according to their previous three-season contract, season 10 will happen.

One Chicago Center reports seasons 8, 9, and 10 were all part of the contract that began in 2020, guaranteeing fans with new episodes through 2023. We can also hope for a future One Chicago crossover event, too. Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas said he originally had plans for a crossover, but the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic foiled the plan. Perhaps with some luck in 2023, a Chicago Med, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Fire crossover will be possible.
