NBC’s One Chicago shows are still going strong, and fans can’t wait to continue Chicago P.D. Season 9. This season has put heavy emphasis on Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton’s relationship, as well as Kim Burgess and Adam Ruzek’s complicated past. There’s still plenty to explore with Kevin Atwater and Hank Voight. Here’s what to know about the remainder of the Chicago P.D. Season 9 schedule.

Fans hoping for a new episode of Chicago P.D. Season 9 tonight, April 27, 2022, will be disappointed. Chicago P.D. Season 9 Episode 20 doesn’t air just yet. According to the NBC schedule, season 9 episode 7, “Trust Me,” runs on April 27 at 10 p.m. EST.

The rerun brings Anna Avalos into the picture. Avalos is a DEA informant who offers Hank Voight information on drug dealers in exchange for money, One Chicago Center reminds us. Voight agrees to work with Avalos, though Jay Halstead warns Voight against the idea.

As for Avalos, she wears a wire while meeting with the drug dealer Luis. Ultimately, Luis dies — and Avalos admits to planting drugs in specific places to her benefit. While Voight could’ve called off working with Avalos because of her deception, he doesn’t. This seems to put a strain on Halstead and Voight’s working relationship.

The Chicago P.D. Season 9 schedule runs until the end of May 2022. On May 4, 2022, yet another rerun of Chicago P.D. Season 9 airs. But new episodes resume on May 11 following the two-week hiatus.

Episode 20 airs on May 11, 2022.

Episode 21 airs on May 18, 2022.

Finally, Episode 22 — the finale — airs on May 25, 2022.

While fans likely will feel sad to see the Intelligence Unit wrap up another season so soon, there’s good news. All of NBC’s One Chicago shows have been renewed for more seasons. Deadline reports Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and Chicago Med were renewed for three more seasons starting in 2022. This means fans will see a 10th season of P.D.

“Dick Wolf has proven time and time again that he makes shows audiences love,” Paul Telegdy, chairman of NBC Entertainment, said. “We are delighted, excited, and proud that as part of this epic deal with Wolf Entertainment, NBC’s loyal audience will know that their favorite shows have a certain future for the next three years.”

With the Chicago P.D. Season 9 schedule indicating the finale is right around the corner, what can fans expect?

There are still many loose ends to tie up with Adam Ruzek and Kim Burgess. Their on-again, off-again relationship continues as they navigate life co-parenting Burgess’s daughter. But the finale may have a heavy focus on Anna Avalos and Hank Voight.

“We will definitely see more,” showrunner Gwen Sigan told TVLine regarding Avalos and Voight. “You’ll see [Anna] in the penultimate episode, and you will see her in the final episode as well. It’s been so fun to write for Jason [Beghe] with [Carmela Zumbado], and so that connection will continue, [and we’ll see] it grow.”

Chicago P.D. Season 9 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
