Chlöe Bailey Joined ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Winner Symone During Her Performance of Her Song ‘Treat Me’: ‘I Was So Happy’
Countless RuPaul’s Drag Race queens have worked with musicians in the past, and Chlöe Bailey is the latest artist to perform with a Drag Race queen: she joined Season 13 winner Symone on stage during a performance of her new single “Treat Me.”
Chlöe released ‘Treat Me’ in April 2022
After a knockout year in 2020 with their smash album Ungodly Hour, Chlöe and Halle Bailey announced that they were taking some time to focus on their solo careers. Halle has since filmed the highly-anticipated live-action Little Mermaid remake, while Chlöe has been hard at work on her music career.
Chlöe released her debut solo single “Have Mercy” in 2021. It was just a taste of her debut solo album, due out in 2022. In April 2022, she released the next single from the project: the seductive “Treat Me.” The song samples Bubba Sparxxx’s beloved 2006 hit “Ms. New Booty.”
Chlöe joined ‘Drag Race’ winner Symone for her performance of ‘Treat Me’
Drag Race winner Symone performed the song in April 2022 at Gloss WeHo, and she was joined on stage by none other than Chlöe herself.
The crowd wasn’t expecting the surprise guest, and Chlöe was grateful to have shared the moment with Symone. “Last night was [a] movie!!” she said in a tweet. “Thank you Symone for letting me join you on stage when you performed ‘Treat Me.’ I was so happy.”
Symone was just as thrilled about the opportunity have Chlöe be a part of her performance. “Still in awe of this moment!” the Ebony Enchantress tweeted. “I love you and thank YOU for making my night.”
Symone’s reign as ‘Drag Race’s Next Drag Superstar
As Season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race draws to a close, Symone is enjoying the last days of her reign as America’s Next Drag Superstar.
Since winning the crown in 2021, Symone has gone on to appear in Rihanna‘s Savage X Fenty fashion show (alongside fellow Season 13 finalist Gottmik) and music videos for Kacey Musgraves. She even joined RuPaul and Michelle Visage at the Emmy Awards in 2021.
Chlöe’s album is coming soon
Meanwhile, Chlöe is gearing up to release her highly-anticipated solo debut album, though she’s remained tight-lipped about its release date or title. In an interview with In the Know, she admitted that she’s just now finding strength in her own image.
“I’m not the most confident person. Every day, I’m constantly thinking, ‘Oh, what’s wrong with me?’ So we’re all going through that. But I have to remind myself that it’s bigger than me,” she confessed. “Now I can easily say, ‘Oh yeah, they can talk about me. I’ll just put it in my songs again.’ You know? If no one ever said anything negative about me, I would have never made ‘Have Mercy.’ I would have never made half the records that are going to be on my album.”
