Rihanna has had much to celebrate recently. The “Umbrella” singer’s Fenty Beauty line has done exceptionally well and has spawned several other creations, including a lingerie line, skincare, and a fragrance. Even better, Rihanna recently gave birth to a baby boy.

As messages of love and support poured in, her ex Chris Brown seemed to join the bandwagon. He posted a cryptic congratulatory message to Rihanna on his Instagram a month after the birth of his third child.

Rihanna nearly broke the internet twice with her pregnancy

Speculations about Rihanna’s pregnancy began when she was honored in her home country of Barbados. At the time, nothing was confirmed. Some shut down the rumors quickly. However, after numerous sightings of what appeared to be a growing belly, the “Love On The Brain” singer finally announced her pregnancy on her own terms.

She and her boyfriend A$AP Rocky held a photoshoot where she wore a pink coat that showed her belly. The news almost broke the internet. Many took to social media to congratulate the soon-to-be parents. Rihanna, as the fashion icon she is, chose not to wear traditional maternity outfits. Instead, she lived by her own rules, changing how we see maternity outfits.

Days after the Mother’s Day holiday, she welcomed her first child, a son, in LA. The birth came weeks after she and A$AP Rocky flew to Barbados in what seemed to be a baby shower that reportedly lasted through the night.

Rihanna and her boyfriend first met in 2012 at the MTV Video Music Awards. He landed a feature on Rihanna’s “Cockiness” remix and joined her in performing the song. Rocky made a move during their performance. Instead of being upset, she let Rocky have his time.

They toured together during her Diamonds World Tour the next year but simply remained friends. Throughout the 2010s, the pair stayed in each other’s orbit but dated other people. The duo, however, started dating in 2020, growing closer during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chris Brown seemingly congratulated Rihanna

The love for the two and their new son has been immense, with celebrities joining the outpour of congratulations. Brown, who has a murky history with Rihanna, might have also posted his congratulations to the couple.

According to Us Magazine, the singer wrote a diagonal “Congratulations” on his Instagram story with a red heart emoji, prayer hands, and a pregnant person. Although the singer didn’t mention his ex by name, many assumed it was directed to her, given the timing. Rihanna gave birth on May 13, and Brown made the post about a week later on May 19.

Brown and Rihanna dated in 2008 but split a year later when Brown assaulted her and got arrested. The singer pleaded guilty to felony assault and received five years of probation as his sentence. Brown and Rihanna tried their relationship again in 2012 but parted ways for good in 2013.

Brown became a parent the year after he and Rihanna separated for good. He and Nia Guzman welcomed their daughter Royalty in May 2014. Brown welcomed his second child, Aeko, with Ammika Harris in 2019. Last month, he confirmed that he and Diamond Brown had their first child together in 2022.

Brown and Guzman had been in and out of court due to child support. Guzman demanded Brown pay more in child support. In 2018 it was reported that the amount increased to $5,000 from $2,500 a month.

Later that year, the pair worked through their issues, with Brown paying Guzman’s legal fees amounting to $100,000 and buying her a house.
