This American-based fast food chain is known for its Baja Blasts and its crunchwrap supremes. Taco Bell is also a favorite late night spot for many celebrities, including the Grammy Award-winning performer Doja Cat.

As with most fast food chains, the menu at Taco Bell changed with new and limited time products. A fan-favorite was the “Mexican Pizza” —  two tostada shells sandwiching a beef-and-refried bean/red sauce mixture, with shredded cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses, tomatoes, and green onions on top — discontinued around the end of 2020.

Enter Doja Cat, a Grammy Award-winning artist with a unique sense of humor and a love for all things Taco Bell. Thanks to her partnership with the fast food chain, Taco Bell confirmed the Mexican Pizza would return to most restaurants in 2022.

Doja Cat mentioned Taco Bell in her Coachella set list, bragging that she brought back the Mexican Pizza

The return of the Mexican Pizza is a pretty big deal, especially to the “Need to Know” singer. Even while performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Doja Cat mentioned her partnership with the fast food chain.

“I brought back the Mexican Pizza, by the way,” the artist yelled at the Coachella crowd. After the shoutout, Taco Bell changed their Twitter name to “YOU BROUGHT BACK THE MEXICAN PIZZA.”

This Grammy Award-winning artist wasn’t alone in her search to bring back the Mexican Pizza. One petition titled “Save the Mexican Pizza” earned over 170,000 supporters. Doja Cat’s influence adding to the Mexican Pizza support, it made sense her partnership is what won this restaurant over.

Doja Cat wrote a song about Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza

The devil works hard, but Doja Cat works harder. This artist is known for her unique online presence, sharing insight into her latest song, which she wrote about her favorite Taco Bell item. And don’t worry — she knows it’s a bad song.

“I made a song about Mexican Pizza because I love it so much. I wish that Taco Bell didn’t discontinue it a year ago,” she said in a TikTok. “And this led me to this monstrosity of a beat that I just made, and I wrote a verse, and I hope you like it. And if you don’t, I understand.”

This sound hasn’t officially been released by Doja Cat, although most music by this singer/rapper is available on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
