Counting On has lost another Duggar couple. Derick Dillard recently confirmed that his sister-in-law Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband, Austin Forsyth, are leaving TLC’s hit reality series. Their exit comes after the pair experienced a heartbreaking miscarriage last year. And there has been a lot of speculation that Austin is the real reason Joy-Anna has seemingly left the family business.

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth are not the first couple to leave ‘Counting On’

Joy-Anna and Austin are not the first Duggars to call it quits on Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s show. Back in 2017, Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, departed after the couple sparked up a feud with TLC and Jim Bob.

Over the past year, Derick has continued the feud on social media. As Counting On fans are well aware, Derick has made some shocking claims against the Duggar patriarch and the Network. This includes the idea that Jim Bob is controlling the purse strings for everyone who appears on the show and that Counting On is basically a rebranding of 19 Kids and Counting.

Derick says that he is working on a tell-all about his time on the show and that the book will reveal the family’s dirtiest secrets.

Until then, Derick and Jill are doing their best to move on past the family drama. According to Newsweek, the former Counting On stars are also considering moving out of the country to focus on international missions, something that has always been a part of their goals.

“Our original plan from the time we married was to serve permanently on the international mission field,” Derick shared. “So, yes, we are definitely open to moving wherever God would lead us.”

Inside Joy-Anna and Austin’s departure from ‘Counting On’

With Jill and Derick no longer a part of the show, fans were surprised to learn that Joy-Anna and Austin have seemingly stepped away as well. The two have not commented on the reports of their exit.

The departure comes a year after Joy-Anna and Austin experienced a tragic miscarriage. In 2019, the couple revealed that they lost their daughter and received overwhelming support on social media from fans amid their heartbreak.

Since then, the two have been busy increasing their presence on social media. Along with offering fans regular updates on Instagram, the pair have their own YouTube channel and have been working on flipping houses.

While Joy-Anna and Austin have not said anything about their exit from Counting On, fans have been speculating that he is the real reason they have decided to walk away from reality TV.

Why did Joy-Anna Duggar leave the family business?

In their most recent Instagram posts, Austin has not been shy about showing off the success of his various business ventures. With their house flipping business heating up, it is possible that they simply don’t have time to appear in front of the cameras.

Although we can only speculate why Austin and Joy-Anna have left the series, Derick recently told fans on social media that he wishes the Duggars still included him and Jill in their activities outside of the show.

“I wish all the siblings would have been invited to family game night by Zoom,” Derick posted. “We quit filming, not family life. Joy and Austin also quit filming, but they were there.”
