‘Counting On’ Fans Are Convinced Again That Lawson Bates and Jana Duggar Are Courting
Even with the help of TLC’s Counting On, it’s hard to keep up with the Duggars. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar launched their 19 children to fame with their many reality shows over the years, and now, fans have their favorite family members as they age, marry, and start families of their own. And while we all love knowing what Jessa, Jinger, and Jill are up to, it’s Jana who’s truly known as the fan-favorite.
Jana Duggar is 29 years old and still waiting for Mr. Right. She’s truly an anomaly in the household as well, as most of her younger siblings who are over 18 have courted and married. While Jana continues to make her own independent path and hope for a good man to come along, eagle-eyed fans think she’s involved (yet again) with Lawson Bates from the Bringing Up Bates family. Here’s what’s going on.
Jana Duggar is the oldest Duggar woman who remains unmarried
Not only is Jana Duggar not courting anyone at nearly 30 years old (which is seemingly unheard of in the Duggar family), but she also still lives under her parent’s roof. Jana doesn’t seem to mind her setup, however. She’s noted before that she helps out with her younger siblings and has many of her own hobbies that she enjoys. She also truly believes that everything that happens for her is all part of God’s plan — and eventually, she’ll come across the right man to court, marry, and have children with.
While Jana seems to be totally content with where is in life, it hasn’t stopped fans from speculating on what’s really going on. Some have theorized that Jim Bob and Michelle are keeping her hostage in the family home. And others simply want Jana to move out and experience life on her own with or without a man by her side. As one of her followers commented on Instagram, “Time to grow up and become a fully functioning adult who actually has to live in the real world and pay their own bills! There are people that can help you if you need help escaping!”
Many have suspected in the past that Jana Duggar and Lawson Bates are romantically involved
We’ve never seen Jana enter a courtship on television, but some fans think she and Lawson Bates have had a romance going on for quite some time. Lawson Bates is also one of 19 kids, the Bates family is friends with the Duggars. Given their upbringing and how friendly they’ve been on social media, fans seem to think they’d be the perfect match.
We can’t forget that the two have gotten flirty on Instagram before, too. People notes Bates commented, “So tech savvy,” on this photo that Jana posted of her nephews playing with a smartphone. While fans were buzzing with anticipation that Jana might announce a courtship at some point, Jessa dispelled the rumors, however. “She’s not in a relationship,” Jessa wrote online. “But if anyone is interested, please send all applications to me. I will check them out thoroughly.”
Recent evidence also has fans going wild
In Touch Weekly notes Bates has been traveling to Arkansas quite a bit — and it has many believing he’s visiting Jana while he’s there. As one Reddit user noted, “This is one of several recent flights there. Could be he’s just doing some flight hours for his license, but courtship is always a possibility.” Not only that, but Jana also created a new post on Instagram that had Bates commenting a few grinning emojis on.
It seems no matter how many times the Duggars and the Bates’ deny a possible courtship between these two, fans remain unconvinced nothing is going on. We’ll have to see in the future if anything else is revealed.
