Jessa shares a new video of Ivy

Jessa and her family, which includes her husband Ben Seewald and her other two children, Spurgeon Elliot Seewald and Henry Wilberforce Seewald, have been quarantining at their home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple has been using social media to keep in contact with fans and also share updates with their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who are also staying quarantined. In honor of Ivy’s newest milestone, Jessa took to Instagram to share a video of her daughter taking a couple of baby steps.

“She’s been taking some steps for a little over a week,” Jessa wrote alongside the video. “And now she’s really starting to take off!”

The video was taken inside of Jessa’s living room and shows baby Ivy taking a few steps towards the Counting On star. Once she reached her mom, Jessa scooped her up and praised her for taking so many steps on her own.

“Yes, you made it,” she tells Ivy in the clip. “You’re a big girl, yes you are. You’re going to show grandma and grandpa how you walk.”

While most fans enjoyed seeing Ivy take a few steps, some criticized Jessa for how she talked to her daughter at the end of the video.

‘Counting On’ fans share their thoughts on Ivy’s video

Fans have never been shy about expressing their thoughts on the family’s social media activity. Many of the Duggars have come under fire for their parenting decisions over the years and they rarely post things without facing some kind of criticism.

Although Jessa’s video of Ivy was super adorable, some fans did not like how she used baby talk to praise her daughter. This includes one fan, who wrote, “Ugh… I hate when parents and others use baby talk,” a direct reference to the end of the video.

Fortunately, Jessa had plenty of supporters. In response to the critique, one fan reminded the person that if they do not like the content then “don’t watch their videos.”

Despite some of the negative comments, Counting On fans are looking forward to future updates on Ivy, especially since she is about to celebrate her first birthday. We do not know what Jessa and Ben have planned for Ivy’s big day, but they will likely keep things low-key considering the current crisis.

Although most fans cannot wait to see more of Ivy, this is not the first time Jessa has faced criticisms over how she is parenting her daughter.

‘Counting On’ fans slam Jessa for not preparing her house for Ivy

A few months ago, Jessa and Ben gave fans a video tour of their home. Many of the followers appreciated the behind-the-scenes look at their house, but some accused the couple of not preparing their home for a baby.

According to TV Shows Ace, a fan heavily criticized Jessa and Ben because it did not look like a baby lived in their home. More specifically, the viewer slammed the pair for not making their house baby-proof and suggested that they did not do enough to prepare for Ivy’s arrival.

“I’m just realizing that Jessa made absolutely zero effort adding Ivy to the household beyond emptying half a drawer in their changing table. I have three young kids, so I understand not having the time and energy to make a big fuss. But for our third baby I at least set up the crib, bought some new sheets and blankets and added some simple decorations,” the fan wrote.

‘Counting On’ Fans Think Jessa Duggar is Quarantining Without Ben Seewald

In response, another Counting On fan argued that perhaps Jessa and Ben did not have the money to make big adjustments to their home. Fans have long speculated about Ben’s mysterious career and how the couple affords to do anything, which only added to the argument.

Others thought that Jessa and Ben will eventually move to a bigger house but only after they have their fourth child. After all, Ivy doesn’t really need her own room until she gets a little older.

Jessa and Ben have not responded to the comments about their parenting decisions. The Counting On couple is very active on social media, so we will probably know if they make any future adjustments.
