Recently Josiah and Lauren Duggar became victims to fans’ comments, with some calling them out on a “dangerous” photo celebrating their 10-month-old daughter.

Josiah and Lauren were thrilled last year when they learned they were expecting another baby after Lauren went through a miscarriage in late 2018. The two welcomed their daughter, Bella Milagro Duggar, in November 2019, in the midst of a Duggar baby boom (five Duggar women gave birth last year). Now, similar to their in-laws, Josiah and Lauren are showing off their little girl frequently on Instagram.
The two haven’t said whether they want more children, but it’s not uncommon for the Duggars to have more kids without waiting long in between. Fans are already questioning whether Lauren might be pregnant, though a recent photo suggests she is not.
Fans slammed the couple for the way Josiah was holding his little girl
Josiah and Lauren don’t use Instagram as often as some Duggars, but when they do, it’s almost always to post a photo of Bella. The two recently took to social media to celebrate their daughter turning 10 months — and posted a sweet photo of her up on Josiah’s shoulders.
Despite the excitement of the picture, some fans were quick to notice that Bella’s back wasn’t being supported. “This is a very dangerous way to carry a baby,” someone commented. “She is being sustained only by her little legs and your hands.” The comment quickly became one of the most-liked comments on the post.
Despite the criticism, there were plenty of fans who took no issue with the photo and many who defended the way Josiah held his daughter. “Daddy has raised so many siblings and cared for so many nieces and nephews, I think he’s got this,” one user replied. “She’s old enough to support her neck and back,” someone else wrote.

Josiah and Lauren’s photo is certainly not the first time Duggar fans have commented on someone’s parenting in a photo. Fans used to give Jill Duggar heat for some of the meals she cooked her children, suggesting they weren’t nutritious enough for two young boys. Others once questioned why Joy Anna Duggar had snapped a photo of her son standing on the edge of a bar stool, inches from falling.
Recently, John and Abbie Duggar posted a photo of their daughter sitting in a plastic tub while on a boat, and while some thought it was genius, others saw it as a potential hazard. It’s easy for fans to give their opinions when someone posts everything to social media, but the Duggars’ parenting techniques haven’t failed them yet.
