For some people, a romantic date might involve a candlelit dinner, a trip to a winery, or a picnic in the park. But for others, the destination doesn’t matter so much; it’s enough to just get out of the house and away from the kids for a bit. That’s the approach that Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald take. The Counting On couple recently enjoyed some one-on-one time in an unlikely location.

Jessa and Ben went on a date to the grocery store

Jessa, 27, and Ben, 24, have been married for five years. They have three kids under the age of four, including a baby daughter born in May 2019. Understandably, alone time is at a premium for this pair. But they seized an opportunity recently, turning what could have been a chore into an excuse for a date by going grocery shopping together.

“Let’s be real— I live off grocery pickup most of the time,” Jessa wrote on Instagram. “But grocery shopping is never more enjoyable than when we do it together.”

She also shared a photo of the smiling twosome posing in the aisle of a Whole Foods. Ben also posted a photo from the trip with the caption: “Just grabbing some smoked paprika, combing the fresh produce for sales, and picking up a few bags of locally roasted coffee. I love shopping with you @jessaseewald!”

Fans love Jessa and Ben’s unconventional date night idea

Jessa and Ben’s date night spent wandering the produce section and frozen food aisles might seem a bit odd to some, but many of her fans thought it was a cute — and realistic — idea.

“My hubby and I grocery shop on date night too,” wrote one person.

“If you have someone who can make you enjoy grocery shopping then that’s a WIN!” one commented.

“Parent life. When going to the grocery store is a date,” wrote another.

Jill Duggar and her husband recently had a Waffle House date night

Jessa isn’t the only member of her family who’s recently been sharing her date nights on social media. Her brother-in-law Derick Dillard posted a photo of himself and wife Jill Duggar celebrating Valentine’s Day at Waffle House. The restaurant “did an incredible job making it a romantic evening!” he added.

For the holiday, Jill also surprised her law student husband with an array of treats, including cookies, olives, sparkling apple cider, and Hershey’s Kisses. The pair also took in some culture at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Ark. The museum, which was established by an heir to the Walmart fortune, contains works by artists such as Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol, John Singer Sargent, and Edward Hopper.

“You two are sooooo adorable!!!” commented one person. Waffle house! Yum! Awe, the treats at home, such a creative wifey, that was very thoughtful and cute, the olives are a nice touch.”
