Counting On stars John David Duggar and Abbie Grace Burnett have never been a typical Duggar couple. Unlike his siblings, they waited until they were in their late 20s to tie the knot, and Abbie even had a career as a nurse outside of the home. In a recent Instagram post, the couple shocked fans by doing something Duggars don’t normally do in public – pack on some serious PDA.

John and Abbie become parents during the current season of ‘Counting On’

The current season of Counting On – which is about one year behind real-time – is giving fans an inside look at the final few months of the 2019 Duggar baby boom. After Jessa Duggar, Kendra Caldwell, and Anna Duggar started off the boom with pregnancy announcements early in the year, Abbie and Lauren Swanson also revealed they were expecting.

Counting On cameras followed Abbie and Lauren while attending birthing classes with their respective husbands, John David and Josiah Duggar. As Monsters and Critics points out, during a recent episode John David and Josiah experienced simulated labor pains with a device controlled by their wives.

Josiah admitted that he couldn’t take the pain and pulled the device off early. He said that he now understands how difficult labor and delivery is for women. John David had a hard time adjusting to the pain, and by the end of the activity, he had a better understanding of what his wife was going through.

Baby Gracie just turned 7 months old

John and Abbie welcomed their daughter, Grace Annette, on January 7, 2020, and they couldn’t wait to introduce her to their family, friends, and fans. They posted two pics of their daughter – one by herself, and another with her smiling parents looking down on her.

Abbie labored for 36 hours, but she delivered in a hospital and got an epidural – breaking another Duggar family tradition of natural, home deliveries.

The Counting On star might have actually broken that tradition for future Duggar births. Jessa said after witnessing the positive effects of the epidural that she would get one the next time she has a baby.

Baby Gracie just turned seven months old, and her parents celebrated by posting three precious pics of their daughter on Instagram.

“Grace Annette is 7 months old today! She has had a major growth spurt and has learned to sit up, crawl, and is starting to pull up! Time flies when you’re having fun! 💜,” wrote the couple in the caption.

‘Counting On’ stars John and Abbie enjoy some much-needed alone time

Any parent of a new baby knows that when you get the chance for some alone time, you have to make the most of it. John and Abbie recently enlisted the help of his twin sister Jana to do some babysitting while they took an afternoon to enjoy some alone time on the water.

During the first week of August, John and Abbie posted two pics from their day on the lake in a motorboat. In the first photo, the Counting On stars are smiling big for the camera. In the second, they are sharing a passionate kiss while enjoying the water and sunshine.

“My favorite place to be is with you!!! 🥰🥰🥰 Thanks to @janamduggar for babysitting so we could sneak away for a few hours! 👶💜,” wrote the couple in the caption.

Fans rushed to the comments section to voice their approval of the PDA.

“Y’all look wonderfully happy😊,” wrote one fan. While another added, “Sweet couple and soo in love💕.”

New episodes of Counting On air Tuesday nights on TLC.
