The Duggar family has filmed for TLC for well over a decade, with their first show, 17 Kids and Counting (later 19 Kids and Counting) premiering back in 2008. In 2016, they rebranded into Counting On, and fans have been following the updated reality television show for five years. Now, it looks like those who have been waiting for new episodes will finally see a reward for their patience.

A new ‘Counting On’ episode is premiering March 30

Fans have waited patiently for Counting On to return. The show’s 11th season premiered back in July 2020 and ran through September. The show typically takes about six months off before returning, but with the pandemic that hit in March 2020, it became unclear when — or if — Counting On would return.

Those who followed the show began to theorize that it might have been canceled after there were few signs of a return. But in TLC’s March lineup, Counting On is back. A new episode is set to premiere on March 30. According to TLC.com, the episode highlights the family’s Easter celebration as well as the introduction of Joe and Kendra Duggar’s third child, daughter Brooklyn. The couple’s daughter was born in February 2020, though it’s unclear if the family’s Easter will highlight last year’s celebration or if they’re celebrating the holiday early this year.

It’s not uncommon for Duggar weddings to be highlighted on the show. In fact, there is often plenty of fanfare leading up to the moment a Duggar ties the knot. However, Justin Duggar, who became engaged to Claire Spivey late last year, was married on February 26. Still in the midst of a pandemic, it remains unclear if Justin’s wedding will be highlighted in the upcoming Counting On season.

Justin Duggar and Claire Spivey allegedly courted for more than a year before he proposed. Most Duggar courtships only last a matter of weeks, so fans are curious to see the dynamic between the two. Some were concerned about Justin’s age; he was 18 when he tied the knot.

It’s important to clarify as well that TLC hasn’t officially announced a 12th season of the show. It’s possible the March 30 episode is only a special and that a new season might come later in the year. It’s also possible the show has not yet been renewed.

Justin’s wedding made waves in the Duggar fan community, but there is reportedly another wedding taking place. A leaked Duggar wedding registry suggests that Michelle and Jim Bob’s 10th child, Jedidiah Duggar, is secretly marrying on April 3.

Michelle and Jim Bob typically announce their children’s courtships, but Jed Duggar’s supposed girlfriend has never been introduced to fans. It remained unclear if the wedding is actually happening; Showbiz Cheat Sheet reached out to the Duggar family for comment but has not heard back.
