Radcliffe has talked in the past about another actor crush of his—one that might come as a surprise to many Harry Potter fans. In late 2021, in the highly-anticipated Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special that aired on HBO Max, Radcliffe revealed that he had a big crush on Helena Bonham Carter when they worked together on the Harry Potter films. In the special, Radcliffe read the letter that he gave to Carter during filming when he was just a young boy.

According to Page Six, Radcliffe began the letter by reading, “Dear HBC, It was a pleasure being your costar and coaster in the sense that I always ended up holding your coffee. I do love you.” Radcliffe continued: “And I just wish I had been born 10 years earlier (so that) I might (have had) a chance. Lots of love and thanks for being cool.”

Carter also made an appearance on the special, urging Radcliffe along as he read the letter—and it was very obvious from their interaction that there’s a lot of affection between the two former co-stars.
