At first, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher seemed like a match made in heaven. But as time went on, things changed. Moore explains how turbulent their relationship became over the years and how Kutcher went from being the best husband to “the coldest person” she had ever encountered.

Demi Moore became co-dependent with Ashton Kutcher

In Moore’s recently published memoir titled Inside Out, she details how she became addicted to Kutcher. He made her feel things that she had never felt before, and she couldn’t seem to get enough of her young husband. The two would do everything together, whether it was playing board games with their group of A-lister friends or traveling around the world for romantic getaways.

At one point, they seemed inseparable.

But over time, Moore admits that she began to neglect her own daughters for Kutcher. She says she became “addicted” to her new man. Moore’s co-dependent behavior caused Kutcher to feel smothered, and as a response, he began to distance himself from her.

Kutcher would start lying to his wife, claiming that his fellow cast mates didn’t want her on set. But as Moore later found out, none of his co-stars had a problem with her visitations. It was Kutcher who wanted space from his spouse, so he made up lies about others not wanting her there to distance himself from her.

He then cheated on Moore with two different women. As her memoir points out, Kutcher admitted to his affairs right away and even tried to justify his behavior. In Moore’s mind, Kutcher was doing everything he could to get out of the relationship.

“Every one of his actions was saying ‘please don’t love me,'” she writes. “But unfortunately, for both of us, I did.”

Demi Moore says Ashton Kutcher was nothing like the man she fell in love with

As time passed, Kutcher began to detach himself from his wife as much as possible.

“Ashton was less and less present,” writes Moore.

And eventually, they weren’t even on speaking terms.

“We hadn’t been speaking,” she claims in her memoir. “I looked at Ashton as I entered the room, and I felt a chill go through me. His eyes were icy, dead. It was like I was seeing the coldest person I’d ever encountered- nothing like the man I fell in love with years earlier. And it was certainly not like looking into the eyes of someone who loved me.”

“That night, he said ‘I think I should move out,'” Moore writes.

“Whoa, whoa, WHOA!” She responded. “We’re married. That’s not how we do things. How did this go from us having issues we need to work on to ‘I’m moving out?'”

And although they tried talking to a marriage counselor afterward, nothing seemed to work.

“It didn’t matter, she writes. “He didn’t really want to work on our relationship. He was done. I was still very much in our marriage, but I was in it alone now.”

After Moore released her memoir in 2019, Kutcher made a tweet that fans speculate was about his ex-wife’s book. He was prepared to write a “snarky” tweet but decided better of it out of respect for his family.

He wrote via Twitter, “I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet. Then I saw my son, daughter, and wife, and I deleted it.”
