Seven weeks later, Dexter: New Blood is down to its final episodes. The series began in November and follows Dexter Morgan’s life in the years after he faked his death and fled Miami. It finds him in Upstate New York, where he has a quiet life as sales clerk Jim Lindsay. But his dark passenger reawakens when he learns of a killer in the area.

Kurt Caldwell appears to be an upstanding member of the community, but he’s secretly the man behind Iron Lake’s missing women. While viewers still don’t know what he does with them, some fans think they just figured out it.

Kurt Caldwell appears to be a ritualistic killer

Kurt, as it turns out, has been killing for years. He was traumatized as a kid by seeing his father assault hitchhikers and, in a seriously messed up way, seems to think he’s protecting others by murdering them.

Kurt first lures the women to his cabin by promising food and shelter. He then locks them inside and observes them from a video camera. After a few days, he lets them out but shoots them before they can get away. He then seems to clean their bodies, drain the blood, and embalm them. But what he does next is unclear.

This ‘Dexter: New Blood’ theory explains what Kurt does with his victims

Answers are sure to come in a future episode, but after seeing some of the alleged photos from Dexter: New Blood Episode 9, some fans think they already know where Kurt is keeping the bodies. The photos in question were shared by the fan page Dexter Daily. One of them shows Harrison Morgan and Dexter in some sort of bunker, where fans think he’s storing his victims.

“I think the next episode we will learn what he is doing with the bodies because it shows dexter and harrison in Kurt’s lair in the promo pictures,” one fan said on Reddit.

“It appears to be underground and I’m willing to bet close to his cabin,” they continued. “Last episode when Kurt was running away, dexter looked away for a second and he was gone. He probably went to his underground lair to hide where he embalming the bodies which is why he disappeared. In the next few episodes I think we are going to learn a lot more about Kurt and his ritual and he will be scarier because of it.”

Many readers agreed, with some speculating that Kurt is keeping the women as trophies. It certainly seems plausible in our eyes. But of course, you’ll have to keep watching to see.

The ‘Dexter: New Blood’ finale will reportedly be a shocker

What we do know is that the finale of Dexter: New Blood is supposed to be a good one.

“It’s going to be surprising, inevitable and it’s going to blow up the Internet,” showrunner Clyde Phillips told TVLine. “It is, I personally think, the best thing I’ve written.”

He continued: “Our director Marcos Siega, who could not be more experienced and a better friend of the show, thinks it’s the best thing he’s ever directed. I haven’t seen it yet, by the way. I only saw it get shot. We’re editing Episodes 7 and 8 right now, so I haven’t seen 10 yet. I can’t wait, to tell you the truth.”
