‘Dexter: New Blood’ Must Answer These Burning Questions
The wait is almost over to find out what Dexter Morgan’s new life will look like. Dexter: New Blood will premiere on Nov. 7 on Showtime. The revival will pick back up 10 years after the events of the Dexter finale. The finale wasn’t exactly a cliffhanger, but it was a dissatisfying ending that left many loose ends untied. Hopefully, Dexter: New Blood will clear up these important questions.
‘Dexter: New Blood’ plot
The revival will follow Dexter’s new life in Iron Lake, New York. Ten years ago, Dexter threw Deb’s body into the ocean and faked his own death. He left Harrison in the care of Hannah McKay in Argentina. In Dexter: New Blood, Dexter has a new girlfriend, chief of police Angela Bishop.
There also appears to be a new serial killer in town. The trailer shows a masked gunman and Angela talking about children going missing. At the start of the revival, Dexter hasn’t killed anyone in almost a decade. Dexter: New Blood needs to answer quite a few questions from where the finale left off.
How did Harrison find Dexter?
The trailer for Dexter: New Blood shows Dexter’s son Harrison finding him at his new home in Iron Lake. Dexter hasn’t had contact with anyone from his past since he faked his death. The last fans saw of Harrison, he was a little boy in the care of Hannah in Argentina. It seems unlikely that Harrison could find Dexter without help. At least, someone would need to tell him about his father and that he is still alive.
Where is Hannah McKay?
The trailer for Dexter: New Blood shows Dexter’s son Harrison alive and well, but no sign of Hannah. Dexter entrusted her with the care of his son, and she likely wouldn’t abandon Harrison. Still, Hannah was a killer on the run, so it’s possible that the law caught up to her.
Yvonne Strahovski has insisted that she won’t be a part of the Dexter revival, which means Hannah won’t either. Regardless, there has to be some explanation as to what happened to Hannah. The consensus among fans seems to be that Hannah is likely dead or in prison by the time of the revival, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Will anyone from Dexter’s past return in ‘Dexter: New Blood’?
We already know that Harrison finds Dexter and Deb returns as Dexter’s Dark Passenger, but Dexter left quite a few people behind when he left Miami. Last fans saw of his friends Masuka, Batista, and Quinn, they were mourning the death of Deb. Will fans ever see them again?
Then there’s the matter of Astor and Cody. After Rita’s death, Astor and Cody went to live with their grandparents in Orlando. The kids aren’t seen much after that. By the time of the revival, Astor and Cody will be adults in their 20s. Like Harrison, they might seek Dexter out. ScreenRant has even proposed a theory that Astor and Cody helped Harrison find Dexter.
