Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will bring characters from across universes in what is expected to be an epic Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Fans hope to see multiple surprises and cameos sprinkled throughout the movie. And thanks to the new Doctor Strange 2 trailer, we know that at least two WandaVision characters made the cut for the sequel.

'WandaVision' stars Jett Klyne and Julian Hilliard, who will reprise their roles as Tommy and Billy in 'Doctor Strange 2,' share a scene where they play video games. Tommy wears a green and white tracksuit. Billy wears a red, blue, and gray shirt and jeans.

Marvel releases new ‘Doctor Strange 2’ trailer featuring 2 ‘WandaVision’ characters

Tickets for Doctor Strange 2 went on sale on Wednesday, April 6, and along with them came a one-minute trailer. The video features new footage from the film, and it teases a distorted reality for Strange and Wanda.

The powerful duo claims, “I’ve been dreaming every night the same dream. Every morning, the same nightmare,” in the new trailer. And Wanda comes face to face with two people from WandaVision — her twin boys, Billy and Tommy. She finds them watching TV at their house in Westview. The Scarlet Witch is likely seeing her children in her dreams since Billy and Tommy ceased to exist when she freed Westview from her control.

However, Wanda heard the twins calling out for her during an end-credits scene in WandaVision. Her astral form was reading the Darkhold when she heard Billy and Tommy, so perhaps they exist in another universe or reality. And given what we know about Doctor Strange 2, anything is possible, including Wanda’s actions in WandaVision coming back to haunt her.

Kathryn Hahn could reprise her ‘WandaVision’ role in ‘Doctor Strange 2’

Before Marvel confirmed that Jett Klyne and Julian Hilliard would reprise their WandaVision roles as Tommy and Billy in Doctor Strange 2, many fans speculated that Kathryn Hahn could also appear. Hahn played the fan-favorite villain Agatha Harkness in the Marvel Disney+ show.

Marvel ordered a WandaVision spinoff series titled Agatha: House of Harkness, which will appear on Disney+. Kathryn Hahn will play Agatha in the show, but not much is known about Agatha: House of Harkness. Perhaps its mystery is due to her appearing in Doctor Strange 2, but Marvel has yet to confirm that theory.

The last time fans saw Agatha, Wanda trapped her in her Agnes “The Nosy Neighbor” persona. As far as we know, the witch is still living in Westview as Agnes. But Wanda seems to be revisiting the town from WandaVision in her dreams. And it’s plausible that the Scarlet Witch might run into her old nemesis during these nightmares. Plus, White Vision is still missing, so he could reappear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Unfortunately, Marvel fans likely won’t know if more WandaVision characters, including Agatha and White Vision, appear in the Doctor Strange sequel until it premieres in theaters.

Sam Raimi teases surprises and cameos in the ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel

While speaking with Fandango, Doctor Strange 2 director Sam Raimi spoke about cameos, which will hopefully include more WandaVision characters.

“I guess I would say that … [Spider-Man: No Way Home] broke open [the idea that] characters from the multiverse could visit our universe,” he shared. “But this is the first time that characters from our universe will go out into the multiverse and experience other universes.”

Raimi continued, “So, it’s going to be a continuation, but that, I think, is one of the biggest appeals. Finding other realities, and how they rhyme with our own, or how they are completely the opposite, or variations thereof. I think therein lies the interest of this picture.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres exclusively in theaters on May 6.
