The second Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer was a treat for Marvel fans. It featured multiple Easter eggs that significantly built the hype for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next movie. And among the teases in the Doctor Strange sequel’s trailer is possibly Reed Richards.

Is Reed Richards in the ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ trailer?

During the trailer, Mordo tells Doctor Strange, “I’m sorry, Stephen. Your desecration of reality will not go unpunished,” as he walks in handcuffs to a mysterious chamber. Unfortunately, fans don’t see the faces of the panel that summons Strange. But many believe this is the Illuminati from Marvel Comics, a secret society of superheroes.

Of course, fans immediately focused on the unidentified voice that said, “We should tell him the truth.” However, if you zoom in and brighten the shot that shows the panel, one of them looks like they could be a member of the Fantastic Four. They have a white spot on their left shoulder, which may be the Fantastic Four’s emblem.

Since Reed Richards was a member of the Illuminati in the comics, fans believe that he could be making his MCU debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Of course, Marvel has digitally altered its trailers in the past. So this person may look completely different in the actual film.

Rumors indicate that John Krasinski may play Reed Richards in the ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel

Ioan Gruffudd most famously played Reed Richards in 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four series. Miles Teller later played the superhero in Fox’s poorly received reboot. And since Disney now owns the rights to the Fantastic Four following their acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the MCU is planning to release a new Fantastic Four movie as a part of Phase 4. Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts will helm the project that currently doesn’t have a release date.

Ever since Marvel Studios announced Fantastic Four, rumors have run rampant on the internet regarding who will play Mr. Fantastic. And many believe and want John Krasinski to land the part.

Krasinski told Total Film Magazine, via ComicBook.com, in 2020, “I would love to be in the Marvel universe. I love those movies because they’re fun, but I also think they’re really well done. And certainly, a lot of my friends are in those movies. I have no idea what [Marvel] are thinking. But if they are considering me for Mr. Fantastic, continue to consider me because I would love it.”

Since Marvel has not even confirmed that the figure is Reed Richards in the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer, we don’t know who would play the superhero in the film. Perhaps Gruffudd might reprise his role for the MCU movie. Or whoever is playing Richards in the MCU’s Fantastic Four could make his debut in the Doctor Strange sequel.

Other possible cameos spotted in the trailer

Along with Reed Richards, some fans believe they saw Captain Marvel, Superior Iron Man, and Professor X in the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer.

Many think that the “mystery voice” during the scene with the Illuminati is Professor X, played by Patrick Stewart. Stewart previously starred as Charles Xavier in Fox’s X-Men franchise. And now that Disney owns the rights to the X-Men, there’s no doubt that the mutants will start to pop up in the MCU.

During another scene, a glowing superpowered individual faces off against Wanda Maximoff. It’s challenging to identify this person definitively, but people say that it could be Captain Marvel, a Captain Marvel variant, or Superior Iron Man.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres exclusively in theaters on May 6.
