In an episode of her show Red Table Talk in November 2018, Pinkett Smith shared: “One of the coping mechanisms with me with Sheree was really, like, ‘Hey, she gifted me.’ She really did. She gifted me. I started to put that into my psychology. She’s not an enemy. She did me a favor.”

Additionally, Pinkett Smith realized that in order for her to bond with Smith’s son, Trey, she had to accept Zampino into her life as well.

“On top of that I had to go into an even deeper psychology of, ‘She’s Trey’s mother,’ as my relationship with Trey deepened,” Pinkett Smith added.

The two women seem to be getting along well these days, and Pinkett Smith even invited Zampino onto her show for its debut episode. There, Pinkett Smith and Zampino revealed they used to be at odds with each other, but co-parenting Trey brought them closer together.

Zampino shared: “So Trey comes home, and I said, “How did you like Miss Jada?” He said, “I really like her Mommy.” Thank you for loving my baby. I’ll tell you, on this side of things, my son could not have a better bonus mom.”

“And he’s got a great mother,” Pinkett Smith said.
