Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman is missing his late wife Beth Chapman. The Dog’s Most Wanted star shared a sweet photo of himself and his wife on Instagram on Feb. 2 amid rumors that he had found love with long-time assistant Moon Angell.

“I sure miss you today !!” he captioned the behind-the-scenes photo. Beth Chapman died in June 2019 at age 51.

Has Dog moved on?

When Beth Chapman died on June 26 after a long battle with throat cancer, her husband of nearly 30 years was devastated.

“Every day is a challenge,” he told TMZ in September 2019. He said he turned to family and friends for support as he mourned, and was also trying to stay busy.

But in early January, rumors began to fly that Dog had moved on. He posted a smiling selfie with his assistant Angell, which led to speculation that the two were dating.

An angry tweet from Dog’s daughter Lyssa Chapman seemed to confirm that the two were involved. “You’re disgusting woman,” Lyssa wrote in reply to a now-deleted tweet from Angell. “Any person who moves in on a man weeks after losing his wife, who you were supposed to be a ‘friend’ to, Is the lowest scum on the planet.”

“When a person who has ill intentions, that my mother specifically warned me about before her passing tries to enter, the war is on,” she wrote in another deleted tweet.

Dog says he’s not dating Angell

The 67-year-old Chapman has since moved to quash talk that he had started a romance with another woman. Angell is just a friend, he told Radar Online in January 2020.

“She has just been so good to me. I’ll get really emotional and find myself getting into a dark hole and she will tell me to suck it up,” he said. “So it’s been good having her by my side.”

While Chapman says he and Angell are not involved, he did tell Radar that he would be open to dating again, adding that Beth had told him he would need a woman after she was gone.

“I’m the kind of guy that has to have a woman around me. There will never another Mrs. Dog,” he said. “But I have to find a way to move on. I’m so lonely right now. I’m just really lonely.”

In an appearance on The Dr. Oz Show, Chapman addressed the rumors of a romance head-on — by proposing to Angell.

In the episode that aired Feb. 3, Chapman asks Angell to marry him, knowing that she would refuse.

“I think this will put a stop to a lot of this,” he said. “Moon Angell will you marry me?”

“What? No. We’re friends, Duane. I love you as a friend,” she replied. “I can’t marry you,” she added. “Right at this very moment, I don’t see you as that. I love you and Beth as my friends.”

“I know, but I want everyone else to know,” he said.

Whether fans will get a closer look at Chapman’s and Angell’s relationship remains to be seen. Dog’s Most Wanted is currently on hiatus and it’s not clear if the show will be renewed for a second season.
