Dolly Parton and Doja Cat brought back Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza

Parton and Doja have been vocal about their love and longing for Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza ever since it’s disappearance. So when the fast food item found it’s way back on the menu, many people thanked the two stars.

Taco Bell posted on their website on April 18:

“While rumors of the Mexican Pizza’s return have been swirling for months, it hasn’t been publicly confirmed, until now. From petitions, to memorials, to merch, the Taco Bell cult has (rightfully) been all but silent about its menu hiatus. Doja Cat, the voice of the Taco Bell people, was one of the first to confirm the news this past weekend, when she literally dropped the mic with the HOT news of the Mexican Pizza’s return this May.”

Doja got a lot of love from Mexican Pizza fans online after exclaiming “I brought back the Mexican Pizza, by the way!” on stage at Coachella. And Parton did, too, because fans knew she’d been vocal about the food item as well.

“More thots: Is coachella becoming uncool? The only buzz I heard from this Coachella is that @tacobell is bringing back the Mexican Pizza,” wrote one Twitter user. “Thank you for all your hard work @DollyParton & @DojaCat!”

Dolly Parton, Doja Cat, and ‘Mexican Pizza: The Musical’

On May 9, 2022, Dolly Parton posted a photo of a script on a table next to a cup of tea. The script is titled “Mexican Pizza: The Musical,” and it’s presented by Live Más Productions’ Victor Kunda.

“Based on the true story of the Internet losing its mind,” reads the logline.

This all started last week when Kunda shared on Twitter an exchange he had with Doja about a TikTok he’d made parodying rehearsal for “Mexican Pizza: The Musical,” based on the song about the fast food item that the “Woman” rapper had put on the social platform back in March.

And now it’s a real thing. “Mexican Pizza: The Musical” will appear on TikTok at 8 pm EST on May 26, and Dolly Parton is in on the action. The satire was written by Hannah Friedman and Grammy award-winning songwriters Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear.
