Don’t Look Up follows low-level astronomer Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) and student Kate Dibiasky (Lawrence). They discovered that a comet is heading toward Earth. However, nobody is taking them seriously on account of politics. They embark on a media tour to try and inform the world about the planet’s future destruction.

Writer/director Adam McKay’s upcoming comedy-drama is filled to the brim with stars. The Don’t Look Up cast includes DiCaprio, Lawrence, Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Scott Mescudi, Cate Blanchett, and Meryl Streep. The Oscar-winning writer is bringing everyone onboard his next social and political film.

Meryl Streep said that working with Jonah Hill was the biggest challenge

The Hollywood Reporter caught Streep, Lawrence, and other Don’t Look Up cast members at a Q&A in Westwood, California. Streep talked about the biggest challenge in filming McKay’s upcoming Netflix movie: Hill. She explained how difficult it is for her to not laugh during a scene when someone is trying to make her laugh.

“Working with Jonah Hill,” Streep said. “I have a problem with corpsing — laughing, when people try to make you laugh in a scene and I don’t have any control.”

However, Streep pointed to Lawrence as being able to withstand Hill’s hilarious jokes. As a result, she said that he “went after you [Lawrence] like a demon” to make her break into laughter on-set. Lawrence interjected that Hill was doing a lot of improv.

“We did have an entire day that was just spent of him improv-ing insults and that was the best day of my life,” Lawrence said.

However, Lawrence also praised Streep’s comedic skills, calling her a “comedic genius.”

“I was like, ‘B*tch, you don’t have to do this,'” Lawrence said. “‘You don’t have to also be funny and also be writing your own dialogue,’ improv-ing, and look at her butt. It was like nonstop.”
